PS2/ Donald Trump had a massive head start on these other countries; had more resources than these countries; and had a better healthcare system than at least some of them. There was no reason would couldn't have limited virus spread the way—say—South Korea (pop. 51 million) did.
PS3/ Even putting aside bigger population-related issues than total population—population density, case-tracking, testing regimens, medical supplies/resources—we're headed toward a COVID-19 outbreak *well* out of scale with the population difference between us and these nations.
PS5/ What this means is the current #MAGA conspiracy theory has China not with *81,000* cases...but *more* than 4 times America's current cases—actually *far* more, as the virus hit China much earlier, and with less foreknowledge of it. So they say China has *2.5+ million cases*.
PS6/ But normal, non-cultist Americans know the truth: the video atop this thread is a staggering indictment of a POTUS who was briefed on this cataclysm on January 3rd *at the latest* and took no actually *effective* action to stop the spread of COVID-19 until *2 months later*.
PS7/ Trump's early February 2020 "cutting off" of travel from China turned out to be a joke—as we now know *40,000* individuals came here from China *after* Trump's full-of-holes order, and that it was *actually* Europe, not China, that was the biggest cause of our outbreak here.
PS8/ Moreover, Trump's rhetoric on the virus—even *months* after he'd been told it'd be a massive killer pandemic—was *deliberately* calibrated to make Americans think all was well. It caused many millions to go about their lives as usual and infect an untold number of Americans.
