"Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat"?

He is actually a member of the most successful third party in the United states: the Vermont Progressive Party, currently with the 3rd most elected officials nationwide after Dem & GOP (yes > greens) 1/

Ok so that wasn't exactly news. Bernie has been with them since 1981, and was with the predecessor party, Liberty Union, before that.

Also, just want to make a tiny point about Bernie's Wikipedia page that I couldn't help but notice on my first screenshot.
It appears Bernie may have already #DemExit 'd
His Vermont Progressive affiliation runs through "present".
His Democratic affiliation ended in 2020.

Notable: this national push of what began in Vermont is explicitly in direct competition with the Democratic & Republican Parties, over the direction of our country.

We are anti-establishment. We support the working class and poor. #TaxTheRich. Fight for equality & justice.

DO NOT play nice with any party that OPPOSES the interests of the most vulnerable people in this country.

People who will die, are dying, and have died, as a result of the lack of political willpower (or is it empathy the rulers lack?)

The goal is to replicate the Vermont Progressive Party's success in winning state and local races in every state of the country.
We are already winning in Vermont in a big way.
We are taking this platform and local first strategy everywhere.

In 1981 Bernie won the race for Mayor of Burlington by 11 votes. The Democratic establishment was blocking his agenda, so his supporters formed the Vermont Progressive Party and won seats on the Burlington city council to push through Bernie's agenda.

The current lieutenant governor of Vermont is Progressive Party, and in 2020 is running for Governor against the incumbent Republican.
When he wins he will be the first state governor from a third party in living memory.

The Progressive Party recently won a *majority of seats* on the Burlington City Council.

We are now moving up to the Mayor's race, and have a good shot at have a Progressive Party Mayor of Burlington, VT.

We do this across the country. We organize now, and then we win.

In fact this national push is so *not* about Bernie that the Party catch phrase is "Not Bernie, Us".

The party exists to push Bernie's (i.e. progressive) agenda, and was literally created for that purpose to support him as Mayor in 1981.

This is about winning local elections.
