In Japan.
Testing ~290 ppl/day (past 16d) tests/day in Tokyo for a city of 10mill.
I wonder if that has a role in affecting apparent low spread..given "lockdown light"?
By comparison, in Qld, popn 5mill (widespread) we have been testing ~1,900 ppl/day over that period
Virus testing is always an essentially important part of knowing what you have in your backyard. You can't mount an informed response if you don't know this basic information.
General comment: you can't crow about how few cases you have in Country X, if Country X isn't testing enough.
Just to add a huge thank you to the many, many laboratory-related legends who have been putting in very long hours - in Qld and around the world - to manage this phenomenal testing load and report out these essential data.
For example in Queensland, this includes a crap-ton of weekend testing (see the yellow dots for Sat/Sun testing results) a range of labs.
