Here are a few more of the new two-page financial fact sheets for Premier League clubs, based on requests from some fans. Today it’s the turn of Everton, West Ham, Brighton & Hove Albion and Fulham #EFC #WHUFC #BHAFC #FFC
#EFC have had significant investment from owner Farhad Moshiri, driving large increases in debt, transfer spend, wages and player amortisation. Revenue relatively flat in last 3 years, leading to highest loss in the Premier League in 2019 (2018 benefited from high player sales).
#WHUFC have 7th highest revenue in Premier League, but little growth in last 3 years. Wages have steadily increased, so profitability has declined. Relatively low debt, but high interest payments to Gold and Sullivan. Transfer spend rising (5th highest net in PL in 2019).
#BHAFC revenue increased by £110m in 2018 following promotion to the Premier League, resulting in a small profit. Growth in wage bill in 2019 meant a return to losses. Very low profits from player sales. 3rd highest net debt in PL, almost all owed to owner Tony Bloom.
Promotion to Premier League in 2019 saw £100m increase in #FFC revenue, but not enough for a profit, due to higher wages and player amortisation plus low player sales. Huge transfer spend (£120m, 4th highest in PL). Debt-free after Shahid Khan converted £155m loans to equity.
Let me know if you want a similar overview for your club and I will prepare one (time permitting). Initially, I am focusing on the Premier League and Championship, as League One and League Two clubs often only publish abbreviated accounts without all the required information.
