I have some legit questions for people who hate renewables and think they're a waste of time/money/resources/hope. Not looking to start arguments here, I'm looking to understand views
Are you arguing we should put all the money currently spent on renewables (including research, govt subsidies, etc) into research for advanced nuclear? Worth it to put the amount of clean energy in the US on hold for, at minimum, years until we have designs certified AND built?
Or should we try convincing/enticing/forcing utilities to starting build more large reactors with existing design certs NOW, like AP1000s? Or build ESBWRs, APR1400s (neither of which have been built in the US before), also putting the addition of clean energy on hold for years?
What if the next plants built in the US become financial and time-sucking nightmares like Vogtle, or worse, VC Summer? Do you dump more money in and keep going, hoping that n-th of a kind will meet projections. Do you switch designs or do something else entirely?
Basically I'd like to understand what you want to happen right now with the current US nuclear industry where it is
I really do not need 8,000 people to come tell me "we need both renewables and nuclear! and here's why...", that's the opposite of what I asked. I'm pretty well versed in those arguments. I want to hear from people who want to all but abandon wind & solar and go all out nuclear
I really should've predicted I'd get a bunch of responses, few to none of which are actually answering my questions.

If you're not anti-renewable, you probably don't answering questions explicitly directed towards anti-renewbles people, thanks!
Where are the `#nuclear is the only way` bros when you need them?
#thorium #uranium #energytwitter
Ok there are too many responses not answering my questions, I'm only gonna engage with those who do. Remember, I'm asking ONLY anti-renewables people what their plan is. Especially this Q: what do we do between now and when advanced nuclear is ready to certify and build?
Also how would you entice utilities who are looking interestedly at advanced nuclear but few/none are ready to commit. Finances are still a huuuuge question mark
