Once, while visiting my nieces and nephews when they were younger, I persuaded them to laugh into an empty bottle.

I told them that whenever I was sad and missed them, I would open the bottle so that their laughter could cheer me up.

I wish I had that bottle still. 💜

And that reminds me of the alternative rituals we must come up with in these intense times of missing people we love, grieving people we lose, raging against the injustices and inequalities that are hurting so many.
