#wmata says even with the money they got from the CARES act, they will still need an additional $412 million to close the budget gap created by the coronavirus. These numbers are giant.
#wmata estimates:

* Fare revenue down $210.8 million through end of FY20
* Non-fare revenues down $27.4M through FY20

* Labor & non-labor costs up $31M to deal with the coronavirus.
All those "goodies" in the FY21 budget will be deferred for at least six months. Fares apparently remain the same for now too.

NEW: #wmata now says there are 8 confirmed cases of employees diagnosed with coronavirus; no details yet where the most recent employee worked or was last on duty. Metro also says several additional cases are pending, awaiting confirmation.

#wmata has updated their website. The 8th employee confirmed to have the coronavirus is a bus operator out of the Shepherd Parkway division. Last on the job: March 12th, diagnosis confirmed yesterday. Recovering at home.
#wmata today reports a 9th employee diagnosed with COVID-19. They worked in the Alexandria rail yard, last worked on the 13th, and are recovering at home.

#wmata still reports one bus operator is 'hospitalized.'
