Do any of you remember the first time you answered your parents or caregivers back? Or stood up for yourself when you were being unfairly treated by them?

Remember the guts it took to do that? You didn't die. This is why you're reading this tweet

We're back there!
You are going to have to decide what #COVID19 stressors you are willing to deal with

If your Mom insists on going to church and you cannot guarantee that #COVID19 precautions are going to be adhered to, then you are going to have to put your foot down and ensure she doesn't go
If Mama gets SARS-CoV-2 and she has to be admitted to a #COVID19 ward, she will NOT be able to see you at all

The only people that she will see are healthcare workers in PPE

There'll be no brand new Woolies slippers or nighties, no Moosa's mink blankets, and no banana Mageu
If Mama passes away, she'll be alone or with a healthcare worker in PPE in that #COVID19 ward

There'll be no goodbyes or final words of wisdom. Her Mfundisi won't be there to say last prayers. Her church mates won't be there to sing her favourite hymns to her as she crosses over
YOU know what you and your family can deal with during this time

If you have the strength to deal with #COVID19 then let Mama go to church

Otherwise be firm and make the right decisions for you and your family

PS I'm just aboMama as an example but it applies to others too
Sit down with your family

Have the discussion in your family WhatsApp groups

Be harsh if you have to be harsh

And if that doesn't work, then take the necessary measures to protect yourself and the rest of your family in whatever way that you can
