Rejection of Zhou Enlai's proposal in April 1960 was a huge blunder though it accepted the McMahon Line and Forward Policy. Acceptance of proposal ,however, could have averted further escalation of tensions leading to the war.

Before the 1962 Sino-Indian war, Nehru rejected the “three- point ceasefire proposal/formula” by China.

For this, Krishna Menon was awarded the job of High Commissioner of London & later Defence Minister of India. He had pro-communist leanings
