Supreme Court bench of J. Ashok Bhushan hears a plea on how #COVID19 doctors and nurses needed separate accommodation near hospitals. #SupremeCourt
Senior Adv KV Vishwanathan: The affidavits by Centre filed is not satisfactory. SG needs to give suggestion to prevent exposure of frontline workers to their families.

The categories of high risk andow risk exposure doctors and nurses are not proper.
SG: We got counter yersterday. Need time to reply to this
Vishwanathan: Please see SOP for health workers. Nodal officer will check of exposure is high risk or low risk. How can the exposure be checked like this?
Senior Adv KV Vishwanathan refers to this affidavit filed by the Health ministry as reported by @barandbench

Vishwanatha: High risk exposure will be quarantined. If they test positive and remain asymptomatic then they will follow mild protocol. This distinction is problematic.

J Bhushan: Court cannot judge what is high risk and low risk
Vishwanathan: All that is required is to engage a medical expert in this case.

SG: If you have any suggestion please place it before the expert body.

J Bhushan: You (SG) need to check whether what petitioners want can be provided? Need to check how to deal with the issue.
J Bhushan: On the accommodation front, SG needs to check what can be done.

SG: Guidelines have been formulated by WHO, ICMR, and other experts. If there is any other better suggestion, please suggest
J Bhushan to SG Tushar Mehta: We cannot have dissatisfied soldiers (doctors) in the #COVID19 war. You need to travel the extra mile to see what else can be done for them?
SG: I am not opposing this petition. This is not adversarial litigation.

Vishwanathan: Govt doctors are being made subject to wage deduction. Some govt hospital doctors are doing this and private hospitals too.

SG: It seems you have revieved ad hoc representation
J MR Shah: But there are reports that doctors have not been paid. Can you see that doctors recently were on strike.

J Bhushan: This should not require court intervention. You need to do more. This is a matter of concern regarding doctors.
J MR Shah: you cannot work half heartedly

List the matter on June 17
J Bhushan: Suggestions by petitioners need to be sent to Secretary, Health and Family welfare today itself for them to take this up.
