THREAD
1/ To all my friends in their 20s/30s

Even if you don’t care about spreading to others (grandma etc), the threat #covid19 directly poses to you is serious too.

A few reasons you should rethink going to indoor clubs/bars/gyms/rallies— all high risk for spread— right now:
2/ First, you very well could have a severe & possibly life-threatening outcome yourself. While it is less likely than someone older than you, we are still figuring out what makes young people get really sick (some do). I wouldn’t recommend being part of that study.
3/ Second, even if you do not die, you very well could have very debilitating consequences for months afterwards, including difficulty catching your breath, severe fatigue, prolonged loss of smell/taste, & more. Read this ⬇️

4/ Third, we don’t know the effects of #SARSCoV2 years later. A number of viruses can stay latent in your body & reactivate throughout life (ex. herpes)

This study of 27 autopsies detected the virus in lungs, liver, brain, heart, kidneys, & pharynx...

5/ We are seeing some seriously bad signs around the US.

ICU beds filling to near capacity in Arizona.

Thousands of new cases per day in Florida.

Remember: just because places are open does not mean they are safe. In fact, many are very much not safe.

6/ In addition to avoiding high-risk places/situations, I would make sure that you wear a mask when you are indoors especially.

If you’re on your own outdoors without close contact with others, get your fresh air then.

Otherwise, mask up.
