1/5 We have passed the 6 month anniversary of this government’s election victory without a self-congratulatory fanfare of trumpets. Does this mean:
- There are limits to their self-delusion and shamelessness?
- Even they won’t attempt to polish this particular turd?

2/5 In the last 6 months, they have caused thousands of preventable deaths due to their:
- Negligence in preparing for a pandemic when the risks were clear
- Incompetence and corruption in the procurement of PPE, testing and contact tracing capabilities

- Delays in implementing prevention and control measures
- Negligence in transferring patients from hospitals to care homes without testing
- Hypocrisy in public health messaging
- Unwillingness to extend the Brexit transition period and focus fully on the pandemic
4/5 In the coming 6 months, they may well cause thousands more preventable deaths due to their:
- Premature lifting of prevention and control measures
- Continued incompetence and corruption
- Focus on delivering Brexit in the middle of a pandemic
5/5 As long as Tory MPs continue to look away, the blood will be on their hands too. They can look forward to explaining to their grandchildren how they watched over this incompetent, corrupt and deceitful government and they did nothing.

Here are some thoughts on how to encourage people to exercise their #civicduty and engage with Track and Trace. The over-riding principle is that the government must first exercise its own #civicduty to people. More specifically:
2/6 The government should admit:
- Government negligence and misconduct in February and March caused thousands of preventable deaths
- Science was selected to fit government policy and not the other way round
3/6 The government should admit:
- The government has routinely misled and lied to people
- Ministers and advisors have not always followed the standards that they have asked people to follow

1/5 Re Matt Hancock’s exhortation that it is our #civicduty to engage with Test and Trace.
I would happily engage, but unfortunately I have lost all trust in and respect for this government.
Therefore, it cannot reasonably expect my co-operation.
2/5 It is like the fiduciary duty of an employee to an employer.
If the employee clearly fails to show loyalty to the employer, they can be legally dismissed.
In this case, the government has failed in its duty to safeguard its citizens.
3/5 The negligence and incompetence of this government has caused thousands of preventable deaths.
The continued incompetence of this government will cause thousands more preventable deaths.
Cummings’ behaviour and the defence by ministers was an insult to the whole country.

1/10 I’m seeking advice on whether collective legal action or prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter would be most suitable for Boris Johnson. His negligence and incompetence has caused (and continues to cause) the preventable deaths of thousands of UK citizens.
2/10 I understand a collective legal action has been started by doctors in France: and I think the case against Boris Johnson would be even stronger.
3/10 Although the bar for a prosecution for gross negligence manslaughter is a high one, Boris Johnson’s negligence seems to meet the criteria: cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance…
