Hey, we're @CarbonCoop taking over the feed for the next 2 hrs! Based in Manchester we offer #retrofit services to householder members, educate and raise awareness and develop innovative energy systems projects & offers.

It's all about #ClimateAction

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
We're all about helping our members take action on climate change in their homes and communities, making huge changes to tackle the challenge of climate change, meet some of them here: vimeo.com/channels/12592…

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
There's a tonne of reasons to #retrofit your home: to improve comfort, reduce bills, tackle health conditions and invest in your property, but for us climate change and reducing carbon emissions from domestic energy use is no.1!

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
But what the hell is #retrofit you may well ask?! Let us explain, put simply it's RETROspectively FITting energy efficiency improvements to an existing home. 80% of homes here today will be with us in 2050 so we need to make then retroFIT for the future

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
What kind of improvements? Well, there's solid wall insulation, inside IWI Internal Wall Insulation, or out EWI Internal Wall Insulation.

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
...triple glazed windows, these timber windows were supplied by the @passivhausnews based in West Yorkshire and the picture shows them installed in one of our member's home in Manchester.

#retrofit

#HarnessOurPower #CEF2020
...ventilation systems, a must if you are to maintain healthy air quality in a super insulated home. This system is installed by @Aereco_Group
...air source heat pumps, an efficient, electrified form of heating that helps decarbonisation efforts.
Solar PVs should also be considered if you have the roof space. There may not be a feed in tariff to subsidise but they are a sensible part of any future home energy system.

#CEF2020 #retrofit
...and #retrofit can have a huge impact on energy use in the home. Reducing bills, lowering carbon emissions and improving comfort. If you're interested in how much take a look at our data geek 🤓 member @Zapaman's feed 👇
What do you do after you've tackled the fabric of your home? There's a whole range of smart home energy services that we're now involved with, including helping people be more flexible in how and when they use energy. carbon.coop/portfolio/powe…
Offering home flexibility helps grid actors such as @ElectricityNW and @nationalgriduk become better able to facilitate more renewable energy generation. Flexibility is offered by things like shifting when householders charge up their Electric Vehicles...
...or controlling when home batteries charge or discharge their stored energy.
Wondering how you can get involved or do the same in your home?

We'll, we have a range of resources and information available on our website, including this section on Reports and Publications

Book your place:
ppr-retrofit-markets.eventbrite.co.uk
And on Wednesday we host a session from @Paulkenny79 of @tippenergy / @super_homesIrl sharing the data and learning from their role out of air source heat pumps, should be a great session!

For policy makers, installers & designers
