(1) I see a pattern. CoVID-19 spreads as a GI-tract infection via Fecal-Oral vector with few reported cases.

Occasionally this will lead to Fecal-Aerosol exposure infecting someones lungs.

Sewer gas leaks/toilet plumes.
(2) In the lungs, CoVID-19 infection proceeds to cough-dyspnea-ARDS. Most moderate to severe cases are reported to doctors or emergency rooms.

Lung-to-lung super-spreading events occur in poor ventilation, with prolonged singing, cheering or speaking.
(3) I suspect most asymptomatic spread is via fecal-oral route and can be super-spread by bad plumbing, sewer system backups due to clogs, sewer system leaks, and sewer and combined sewer system overflows.
(4) Someone with a GI infection can infect their lungs via toilet plume, clogged toilet plumbing or dry drain traps that expose them to sewer gas.
(5) The undeterred quiet asymptomatic spread through mild fecal-oral infection allows areas to be primed for weeks prior to breakout.
(6) I'm basing this hypothesis on quite a bit of research. We are now hearing that sewer water had CoVID-19 contamination months before the first reported case.

(7) Note that after an area is primed, their sewers are full of viable CoVID-19.

A major rainstorm can trigger exposure via clogged sewers, flooded basements, plunger backdraft, sewage leaks, sewer gas leaks, sanitary sewer overflows, and combined sewer overflows.
(8) The rainstorms that marked the end of winter, marked the beginning of the CoVID-19 outbreak.
(9) New York City experienced three major rainstorms the week of the CoVID-19 outbreak.

Chicago experienced record rainstorms after its lockdown and couldn't get infection rates to fall until the rains stopped.
(10) The fastest outbreaks seem to occur in the cities with the most problematic sewer systems. The places with sewer overflow outfalls seem to suffer the worst.

Combined Sewer and Stormwater systems are predominantly in the Northeast and Rustbelt.
(11) New Orleans has a standalone Sanitary Sewer System but it is notorious for leaks and breaks due to flooding and hurricane damage.
