1. Great way to optimize the little time we have in #AcademicMed
2. Decision framework when you say yes
3. When you say yes to something, you say no to something else.
4. Use the triangle of Yes to decide!
Improving efficiency to increase productivity:
1. Eliminate redundancy
2 What can you automate?
3. What can you delegate?
These free up bandwidth to pick up new projects!
How do you increase efficiency (cont)?
-Plan ahead for scholarship
-As you write IRB, write intro as well!
-Use momentum to get project going
Opportunity and cost- look for tradeoff and what the cost is. Weigh the scale.
There is only so much time in the day so figure out what brings you joy and value and invest your time on that!
How do we carry it forward? What is the next project?
-You have put so much effort into the topic, use that effort for multiple projects.
Ex:
-Pod cast
-Blogpost
-New study addressing limitation of initial study
Use your network to come up with ideas and future collaborations! This will help you grow your project, networks, and have multi-collaborations.
This will help you use the momentum.
Plan ahead- what are the outcomes measures you are looking for. Boyers and Glassicks can help inform your scholarship.
You can create scholarship for others and offer mentorship to help BUILD SKILLS. Allow them to learn the steps and design to learn feasibility, methods, etc. Together you can come up with the BEST idea.
Ask questions to learn the skills you need to grow in scholarship and be able to have multiple wins!
Acknowledge the Intimidation of getting started and still move forward despite this!
Allow your passion to be your guide and inspire your scholarship!
Ignore the imposter syndrome. You have what it takes to do scholarship! Lean on your network and mentors to help you grow and gain confidence.
