Looks like it's going to rain outside & @lifetimetv is currently airing a kink-friendly movie about open marriages. So, now I know exactly what I'm doing for the next 2 hours. 🍿
Couple A about Couple B's #OpenMarriage: "I didn't think they were the type." Well, sir, that's the thing ... You never really know who's kinky and who's vanilla. 👀
Everything is contextual anyway. I'm considered ...
✅ Vanilla AF among kink-friendly friends
✅ Kinky AF among vanilla crowds #OpenMarriage
OMG!!!! I am screaming. The wife from Couple A just admitted to her coworker that she & her husband are considering "opening open." The coworker responded: "Opening what?! A lemonade stand??" 🍹 #OpenMarriage@lifetimetv
Commercial break. Lemme guess how this develops ... jealous, rage & death. Because:
(A) Lord forbid we depict healthy, happy kinky couples.
(B) More importantly ... It's @lifetimetv. Love 'em. Even straight, vanilla, heteronormative couples = jealous, rage & death. ❤️

I've been writing, teaching, speaking, and/or performing one-woman theater shows, etc. about sex & dating for the better part of nearly two decades. If you're interested, here are a few of my articles. twannahines.com/writing/

Just saw your tweet, @rockrichard. The movie is called Open Marriage. It's airing on @lifetimetv right now.
"To save their struggling marriage, Becca & Ron reluctantly agree to an open relationship with their friends Mindy & Max. Though their passion is rekindled, they don't expect the jealousy, heartbreak & betrayal that soon follow." — @lifetimetvmylifetime.com/movies/open-ma…
How the fuck is this single dude being allowed into the club on his own. Maybe this is a new thing but, IRL, single men aren't usually allowed into alt / kink / BDSM clubs on their own. You'd have to arrive with a (woman) partner.
The 1st time I went to a kink club, I was still living in NYC. The place was called Le Trapeze. The guy I was sleeping with at the time, a Russian man who was 7 yrs my junior, wanted to check it out. pagesix.com/2017/08/03/bui…
I mean, technically — prior to that — when I was still living in Amsterdam, I'd gone to places to watch live sex. But, somehow, those didn't seem like "kink clubs". Sex isn't as stigmatized in The Netherlands as it is here.
Hell, in MOST countries considered our GDP peers, sex isn't as stigmatized as it is here.
Um, this coworker would NOT have your back.
Hubby: "Hey, can I speak to Becca?"
Coworker: "Hi, Ron! She's not here."
Hubby: "She said she was working late tonight."
Coworker: "Nope. She left exactly 3 hours ago."
FWIW, lying and cheating isn't #nonmonogamy. Lying and cheating is just lying and cheating.
In my experience, kink couples are much better at actually discussing & negotiating boundaries than vanilla couples.
Kink couples: "How are we going to handle it when we're attracted to — and/or want to sleep with — other people?"
Vanilla couples:
There's this great movie ... ahhhh, shit, I can't remember the name ... that depicts how vanilla couples are piss-poor at discussing this stuff in their relationships. Ahhh ... Julia Roberts, Natalie Portman, Jude Law and that British dude with brown hair ....
Clive Owen!!! Yes, CLOSER!! It's a Mike Nichols (The Graduate, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Birdcage, etc.) film based on a play written by Patrick Marber.
By the way ... For my new followers from last week who may be thinking: "WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING?!?! I came here for #NatSec tweets." Here are a few things to remember about me & national security ...
1) Tremendous overlap exists between #NationalSecurity & #SexualHealth communities. They're hardly mutually exclusive. 2) FWIW, WDC is much kinkier than NYC 3. Read this: "Giselle and Beth shared a love of national security, wine, gender fluidity & BDSM." washingtonpost.com/news/josh-rogi…
About that last piece, I'm glad @joshrogin wrote it (and the filmmakers created the film highlighted in the piece) because it does a great job sharing a story about how we need to challenge conventional wisdom (read: stereotypes) when it comes to various communities.
Kinksters are everywhere — even in national security. Hell, did you REALLY think a community overrun with politicos & military folks wouldn't like power plays during sex?!
Alright, that @lifetimetv movie just went off. I've gotta jump on a call with a friend. If you enjoyed this thread & want more sex stuff from me, check out my site: twannahines.com . (And, if you know book agents, I #amquerying books about ... you guessed it ... sex.)

Good morning, loves! ❤️ Here are a few wisdom droplets for you: To state the obvious, every member of congress who aided & abetted last Wednesday's attack is a traitor to this country. #NatSec
If you've seen photos & listened to reports from congresspeople who were inside the Capitol during the attack, you know certain Republicans gave rioters pre-attack recognizance tours.
They also first-pumped to cheer attackers on as they trashed the Capitol, tweeted out the location of the fellow congress members' hiding spaces & one literally said (about the mob) "those are my people." Watch this entire video. #NatSec instagram.com/tv/CJ-OkgNAO1N…
By definition, they require imagination and expanding one's mind. For example, when you see an actor, you're picturing them as the person they're depicting — not solely thinking: "Hey, that's ____!" #StarringRole
Usually, "unwanted" is a dated term to describe an untimed, or unexpected, pregnancy. #SRHR#SexualHealth
Usually, it covers a lot of agency on the part of the person who became pregnant. In other words, someone who is able to become pregnant had a consensual sexual encounter, and that encounter resulted in an unexpected — or "unwanted" — pregnancy.
Not all photos are uploaded to Twitter using the correct specs to optimize display on Twitter. For example ...
Twitter apparently taught its algorithm to find the most interesting / relevant parts of of photos, then display a cropped version of those pics such that the most relevant part shows up as a thumbnail.
We have to stay up. Stay focused. Stay happy. Stay optimistic.
Thank you, @silverbranchus for hosting an outdoor, physically distanced #Oktoberfest event. Spirits need lifting right now, and you're providing that service. #RIPRBG ❤
Tonight I restore my soul. 🍻 Tomorrow, I get back to work.
The New York Times did this, back in 2016. Though, with Trump supporters and Duck Dynasty (vis-a-vis shows like Modern Family & Empire). nytimes.com/interactive/20…
It's the premise of #BigData. To riff off Aristotle's "give me a child until he is 7, and I will show you the man", in modern times, it's: "Give me your data, and I will show you who I believe you are, and push you in the direction of who I want you to be."
As an example, if you're getting election-related calls, texts, Facebook ads, etc., you're getting them because you're on a list. Data decided which list(s) you should be on.
