They have been continuously prompting the jail authorities about deteriorating health but there has been a very conscious delay in testing.
Konwar & Sonowal were first taken to GMCH & later to Sonapur COVID Hospital where due to lack of empty beds they were kept moving.

1200 prisioners of Guwahati central jail had protested earlier in June to decongest the jails & provide immediate medical intervention in wake of #COVID19.

Assam govt must step up their work to provide best available treatment to all, including political prisoners. They must also find ways to decongest Guwahati Central Jail. There are many other prisoners at the risk of infection.
