We celebrate that dance is a place where people of different backgrounds can come together around a common love for self expression through movement. But we are watching our dance communities crumble under the divisive ideology of critical theory/identity politics.
There are still racial injustices in the world. We believe that the best way to fight them is to work together as a community and as equals, regardless of skin color, sex, sexual orientation, gender, etc.
We see the racism happening in the classic sense, but we also see the racism happening within woke ideology and we are standing apart from it.
We believe it's wrong to generalize that all black people are victims, when everyone has their own experiences in life and many do not feel like a victim of society. We want to empower people. Not make them feel inferior.
We believe it's wrong to tell a white person that they are essentially privileged and racist because of the color of their skin. This is another way of denying an individual’s life experiences, and is damaging to efforts for racial healing, as it neglects our shared humanity.
Both approaches are forms of racism, and take away your individual creativity, as well as your ability to connect authentically with those different from yourself. Freedom of expression, true equality, and empathy is what we want, and people are trying to take that away from us.
We are anti cancel culture. This is not going to be a community to attack woke dancers for their beliefs. Rather, we think it’s important to share various points of view, and have open discussion on how to deal with the problems in our communities.
We believe that precise language is more powerful than sweeping generalizations or broad accusations. We believe having a different opinion or different values doesn’t make one an evil person by default. We are all coming from different backgrounds and have different knowledge.
We stand against racism, and believe that the woke/identity politics method is harmful to race relations and equality. Instead, we seek to find common ground, listen to a broad range of opinions, employ liberal methodology and practice individualization.
Feel free to reach out if you’re in need of support or have ideas, and we’ll do our best to get back to you.

We’re looking for more dancers to join in managing this account.
We are going to begin posting articles and content on how to talk to people in a positive way, how to protect yourself and your work from cancelation, mental health resources to help you through this weird time, as well as information to help you understand what’s going on.
One last thing.

We know you are out there. We know you exist. We hope you’ll join us in standing for individualism, empowerment, and unity in our dance communities.
