Just published @nature on T cell response to #SARSCoV2:
All 36 recovered patients had CD4 and CD8 responses to nucleocapsid protein, and SARSCoV1 had cross-reactive T cells, along with uninfected. nature.com/articles/s4158…
This important work comes in wake of the preprint this week on waning antibodies and it's especially encouraging to see the extensive T cell activation vs #SARSCoV2
You can see that fortunately the T cell response to #SARSCoV2 resembles and overlaps with SARSCoV1 and unlike the common cold coronaviruses
Very good explainer of the significance of these findings (why it's good news but there are persistent knowledge gaps) by @Dereklowe today
