Ali (r) himself never taught anybody to call on him (or Jesus or anybody with Allah), nor did the Salaf Bor major scholars of Ahlu-Sunnah. The extremists amongst the Sufis and their Tariqahs have always been the gateway to Shi'ism (thus are paraded by Rafidis as 'true Sunnis').
