Mass conversions to Sunnism amongst Arab #Ahwazis are a fact that even the hateful Iranian regime doesn't deny. Ayatullats and high ranking officials have many times expressed their concern about the spread of 'Wahhabism' in Khuzestan (Persianised name of #AlAhwaz).
The Neo #Safawi regime employs the #Wahhabism card to silence&demonise #Sunnis that are opposed to it, esp. Iranian Sunni dessidents & converts to #Sunnism inside #Iran. It's an old trick that they have learnt from Israel (that demonises its critics with antisemitism allegation).
The problem: Although one can find a number of articles about Arab Ahwazi #ExShias on the net in the English language (in Arabic there is tons of stuff), most of it is scattered. Under this thread I will gather everything I have translated myself from Arabic/Persian to English.
The spread of #Sunnism is so widespread amongst Arabs in occupied #Ahwaz (particularly the new generation) that even voices from within the regime have openly raised their concerns more than once...
....lamenting the (what they call) spread of "Wahhabism" in the majority Arab region of #Ahwaz (officially Khuzestan).

By Allah, I myself have met many Ahwazi Arabs and are friends with them and the vast majority of them happend to be #ExShias like myself.
If you happen to meet an Ahwazi Arab (many of them live in Australia, Scandinavian countries, the Netherlands and the UK) the chances are high of him being an #ExShia ...
...I mean it's so common (conversion to Sunnism), that you will more likely encounter an Omar, Othman from Ahwaz (in real life or on social media) than a Shia one (Ahwazi nation used to be 100% Shia so imagine the transformation and devastating blow to the Rafidah!).
Ahwazi Arabs are very similar (custom, dialect and cultural wise) to southern Iraqis, with the difference that Arab Sunnis still inhabit even major Shia cities such as Basra and Nasiriyyah in southern Iraq...
...whereas in Ahwaz (particularly after the onslaught on Sunnis in the 16th century by the Turko-Persian #Safawis) - although it always had a Batini Rafidi Shia presence yet was also inhabited by many Sunni tribes - Sunnis were wiped out completely...
...... well ... until recently where ironically the Sunni revival in Shia Ahwaz has started with the rise of the Khomeinian revolution and the rule of the Rafidi clergy (argumentaly nobody has harmed Shi'ism more than its own clergy, wal-Hamdulillah).
The indigenous Ahwazi Arabs are plagued with severe socio-economic deprivation (Anti-Arab sentiments are common amongst nationalistic AND religious Iranian Shias alike!), suffer from one of the highest rates of poverty of the entire population of Iran...
...and have a high level of water and air pollution. The oil facilities surround and suffocate the city by releasing toxic materials and pollutants in the air.
The underlying reasons behind the Iranian government’s neglect of the Arab Ahwazi population are geopolitical, ethnic and recently sectarian (rise of Sunnism). They have been subject to imposed “Persianisation”, a policy that was pushed by the late Shah and his father...
...and to the shock of many Ahwazi Arabs not just continued but *intensified* by the #Khomeinist #Shia regime, a regime that claims Islam and adherence to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) Arab household!
Like most Iranians, the Ahwazi Arabs too fell for the empty slogans of Khomeini and his revolution. The Dajjal Khomeini promised justice and even met (and spoke to them in Persian as he couldn't speak Arabic!) influential Ahwazi Arab tribe leaders, praising them and...
...promising them an end to the Persianization policies of the Pahlavis and a brightful future.
Many Ahwazi Arabs fell for the lies (just like many gullible and ignorant Muslims who fell for the lie that the Khomeinist regime is the saviour of Palestine and enemy of Israel while it has killed more Sunnis in Syria than Zionists).
A few years ago the city of Ahwaz was ranked the most polluted city in the world by the World Health Organization.
It is ironic that Ahwazi residents are facing such difficulties while they are living in one of the most oil-rich (90% of Iran’s total oil exports originates from majority Arab regions of Khuzestan/Ahwaz) regions of the the Khomeinist Republic.

Iran's comes form Arab soil!
The Arab Ahwazis are the first Arab Shia people who have started to leave the heretical Rafidi Shia religion in large numbers, history will remember this merit.
In the past the Ahwazi Arabs were fooled by the Iranian Ayatullats in the name of 'following the Ahlul-Bayt'. However, unlike other non-Iranian Shias they have experienced the oppression of the Rafidi Shia clergy at first hand and...
...unlike most non-Iranian Shia (like their cousins, the Iraqis) they speak Persian&have studied the falsehood of Shiism in detail.

Top Ahwazi academics&religious figures came to the conclusion that Shiism is inherently Anti-Arab (it's trick is to MISuse the Arab Ahlul-Bayt)
...it's a Batini (esoteric) Saba`i-Majoosi conspiracy that blatantly starts off with the Takfir and vilification of the vast majority of the Sahabah (especially Muhajirs and Ansar who were majority Arabs)...
...and ends with the veneration of Persian paganism such as Nowrooz (in the name of Ahlul-Bayt!) and the veneration of the killer of Sayyidina 'Ali's father in law (Sayyidina 'Omar b. Al-Khattab who was assinated by the Kafir Persian Shia saint...
...and first suicide attacker in a mosque, Abu Lu`lu`ah Al-Majoosi), not to mention their fake hidden "Mahdi" (Dajjal) who is described in their own books as mass-murdering Hebrew speaking monster who will slaughter the Arabs most with the support by Persians and Jews...).
No doubt, one factor that has pushed many Ahwazi Arabs to leave the heretical Shia religion and embrace the light of Tawhid and Sunnah (Ahlus-Sunnah) is to free themselves from the shackles of the Khomeinist regime and the "Ayatollahs" of Qom, in short:
Persian chauvinism under the guise of "the school of Ahlul-Bayt/Shi'ism".

An Iranian Ultra-Nationalist (who just like the Rafidah Mullahs is concerned about the rise of Sunnism amongst Ahwazi Arabs) activist once said:
"The Arabs in Khuzestan (Ahwaz) say that the only thing they share with us (Persians) is the religion (Shiism), so freeing themselves from its (Shiism) shackles means freeing Ahwaz..."
The oppression of a regime that claims to stand with the oppressed while oppressing its own people resulted not just in hatred for the regime but in hatred for the ideology and religion it stands for.
However, unlike most Anti-regime Iranians who end up turning Atheists, Christians or Zoroastrians, the Arabs of Ahwaz did not turn their backs to Islam, in fact they decided to embraced it in droves by leaving Shiism.
Arab satellite channels (specialised in refuting Shi'ism and exposing the crimes of the Iranian regime way before Persian Sunni satellite channels launched) such as...
...#Wesal TV, #Safa TV and others (that were launched as a reaction after decades of Neo-Safawi Iranian state propaganda in Muslim lands) were certainly a great help for Ahwazi Arabs in Iran, they are after all native Arab speakers.
It is really ironic that the foolish Mullahs of Tehran and Qom have inadvertently (due to their opression of Ahwazi Arabs) paved the way for the mass exodus of one of their Shia strongholds.
This is a divine proof that even a disaster such as the Khomeinist revolution and the rise of the Rafidah with all its evil, Kufr and calamity can also bring some good, a win for Ahlus-Sunnah and great loss for the Rafidah in their own fortress.
A quick Google search will prove my initial claim: Namely that Iranian regime itself (including high profile clerics and 'Ayatollahs') has expressed more than once its concern and worries about the spread of Sunnism Ahwaz.
Some of them even sound historical and would never would never ever admit to this fact if it wasn't so widespread and known (unfortunately not really researched let alone covered in the English languages).
Ayatullat Muhammad Ali Musawi (representative of Khamenei in the 'Khuzestan' province):

"Wahhabis (what the regime calls Sunnis that it wants to demonise) are spreading their corrupted ideology in Ahwaz."

Source: Regime affiliated Mehr news
The same lapdog of Khamenei said in one of his speeches:

"The issue of combating Wahhabism is not a collective responsibility anymore but an individual one!"

This is hw hysterical the Turban-Heads of Qom are, this is how widespread the Sunni Da'wah and conversions are in Ahwaz.
How to Shias (on damage control mode) normally respond? Well, just like they do on Arab&Persian social media, they will downplay everything AND parade regime affiliated hypocrites from Ahwaz who have sold their souls to Khamenei (like Bashar did) in exchange for the Dunya.
