Two subjects tend to occupy my photo life lately: #selfies and #cats. The reason for this is simple: the models are readily available and I am not shy about approaching them. The cats have a deep seated fear of the camera because of the flash...

...so I have to be clever about capturing them. One of my cameras has a flash free night setting. The cats can't tell the difference, so my best schemes are to take multiple shots or use a timer. There is no flash when I use the timer so they don't cringe.

My love of cats is so great that people have been known to run when they see me coming. I do not disdain dogs -- we had a Boston Terrier until two years ago -- there is just a ready bond that forms when I have a cat about. They have helped me...

...through some devastating #depressions. Currently the relationship that I have with the two youngest surrounds a laser pointer. The Red Dot is religion. Some nights they would rather chase It than eat their regular bedtime treats....

I promise that I will share the photos and videos that I have taken of them in their worship within a week or two. The Red Dot is the one way I can exhaust them so they are as can as the eldest.

Little Bo (see preceding tweet) grows more ragged with each photo I take. She has had recurring infections in her left eye.

She is not part of the Cult of the Red Dot.
