well as usual @CBCNews @CBCIndigenous are not being fully honest. There are 2 national Metis orgs, both have different definitions of what it means to be Metis and only one of them was involved in putting the Metis into the constitution and it wasn't MNC or MMF .. it was CAP
If you read the Constitution and bylaws of the Union of The Nova Scotia Indians - UNSI you will see Metis were recognized in the east in the 70's. MNC was not incorporated until 1984. I think your staffer also really needs to read the supreme court Daniels decision as well ..
