1/ The latest in Alan Dershowitz/Jeffrey Epstein news (via @KlasfeldReports): in newly released letters, lawyers for Les Wexner "appear to undermine one of Dershowitz’s central claims against his prominent accuser Virginia Giuffre."

2/ Background: in denying Virginia Giuffre's claims that he had sex with her, Alan Dershowitz has characterized her claims as part of an effort to extort money from rich men, such as billionaire (and ex-Epstein associate) Les Wexner.

3/ But in just-released correspondence, Les Wexner's lawyers deny any extortion attempt: "no extortion demand was ever made, no settlement was entered into, and not a penny (or other consideration) was ever paid."

4/ Team Wexner acknowledges that John Zeiger, one of Wexner's lawyers, communicated with David Boies -- who never tried to extort Wexner, as both Zeigler and Boies can confirm (and the Wexner camp is willing to make Zeigler available for a deposition).

5/ But Lex Wexner himself has "no involvement, and thus lacks any personal knowledge relating to, Defendant’s so-called 'Extortion Claim'" -- and therefore Wexner should not be personally deposed in any of the litigation involving Alan Dershowitz.

6/ In a nutshell, Les Wexner is telling Alan Dershowitz, "Please leave me out of this mess" -- i.e., Wexner doesn't wish to be weaponized in Dershowitz's battle against Giuffre.

7/ For his part, Alan Dershowitz dismisses the denials of Les Wexner:

"Extorted individuals almost always deny they were extorted because they don’t want the public to know they were accused of the wrongdoing that is the basis of the extortion."

8/ David Boies, counsel to Virginia Giuffre, claims vindication. As he told @KlasfeldReports of @CourthouseNews:

"This is a smoking gun, as far as the case against [Alan] Dershowitz is concerned.... This is devastating to Dershowitz."
