A look at today's #COVID19 cases, 16/8.. 9 local cases; 6 from #TawarCluster (5 in Kedah & 1 in Penang), 2 foreign workers from restaurant in Setapak [worrying !!] & 1 in Sabah ..

Now just a look back again #Penang .. we had announcement of the Teluk Kumbar case (Barat Daya district) on 14th Aug, one day after announcement on the Adventist case on 13th Aug..
But the Teluk Kumbar case triggered immediate reaction from #MBPP ..

It was then a commendable response by the state via its local council arm the #MBPP in reaction to case 9149, residing in Teluk Kumbar, #Penang but part of #TawarCluster Kedah.. all on 14th Aug..
But then on 15th Aug.. KKM announced 2 cases in #Penang but part of #TawarCluster .. case 9173 (71y female) & case 9174 (80y female). They are "Kontak hospital" as they probably visited case 9129 when she was in Adventist Hospital.. yet classified as Timur Laut district..
The big question now was how the #Penang state responded to the 2 Timur Laut cases.. in contrast to the 1 Barat Daya case.. this is now 16th Aug morning..

And btw.. more details on the 2 foreign workers who tested positive in a random screening at a restaurant in #Setapak, announced yesterday 16th Aug.. going to be a matter of concern in these coming days.. #COVID19 #Malaysia

The 2 Kedah cases picked up from pre-op screening at a private hospital, would soon be the index cases of #TawarCluster (case 9113) & #MudaCluster (case 9114) respectively..
Probably the same private hospital, under "Kontak hospital" that has led to 11 cases so far !!
One more added today to cases caught from symptomatic or pre-surgery screening..

Sungai Petani playgrounds closed on Sat, 15/8.. compare with the start of #TawarCluster when index case 9113 was admitted into a private hospital in Kedah with chest pain & fever, subsequently picked up as positive on symptomatic screening on Tue, 11/8.. 1/n
#TawarCluster cases involving family members were positive upon contact tracing and reported on 13/8, the adults (20y till 62y).. then 3y child involved on 14/8. By then also 6 persons from the private hospital were also positive on 14/8.. 2/n..
By 15/8, at least 3 school kids were positive; 8y, 11y and 13y. Hence an appropriate reaction by Majlis Perbandaran Sungai Petani Kedah (MPSPK) to close all playgrounds on the same day. 👍🏻 3/n

Now things in #Penang are slowly unraveling with rise in #Covid_19 cases.. Not easy with fragments of info, but here it is.. Cases in Penang are basically from Kedah #TawarCluster ..
Immediate case at Adventist Hospital was case 9129, 56y F.
Proactive steps were taken.. 1/n
And to make sense of @malaysiakini report below.. It had correctly quoted @DGHisham that case 9129, the 56y female reportedly admitted Adventist #Penang .. was part of Kedah #TawarCluster .. hence not yet a Penang #Covid_19 case.. 2/n
Then combining both @malaysiakini , @DGHisham & @KKMPutrajaya .. We see the bigger picture yesterday that the #Penang #Covid_19 positive yesterday was case 9149, 58y F who was "visiting case 9133 & case 9129 at a private hospital in Penang" !! case 9149 is from Teluk Kumbar.. 3/n

Very Good Korean study of #COVID19 cases in a call centre in Seoul.. Of the total of 97 positive cases via RT-PCR, 94 worked in the 11th floor call centre & most of the cases worked on the same side to reinforce droplet transmission.. 1/n

This #Korean study builds on its finding of positive #COVID19 individuals & followed up on them as PUI (Persons Under Investigation) + checking on Close Contacts for 14 days to evaluate:
1) symptomatic
2) pre-symptomatic
3) asymptomatic
with listed definitions below .. 2/n
Findings were as below..
Of the 97 cases, 94 worked on same 11th floor & majority sat on same side of the call centre.
Of the 97: 89 were symptomatic (91.7%), 4 pre-symptomatic (4.1%) & 4 asymptomatic (4.1%).. asymptomatic meaning did not show symptoms within 14 day period.. 3/n

This is a very good study that highlights transmission of #COVID19 is NOT air-borne.. but instead by droplets, in fact exacerbated by air conditioner flow in an enclosed restaurant.

Let's take a closer look at this study of how #COVID19 is transmitted within a restaurant, enclosed with air-conditioning.. It started with a family from Wuhan.. which soon led to 3 family clusters.. 1/n
This family from Wuhan sat at Table A.. with other families, at Table B and Table C respectively..
Soon after, out of total 91 persons in that restaurant (83 customers & 8 staff), only 10 were positive #COVID19 ; from tables A, B & C only. ALL other 81 were negative. 2/n
