Without turning the Zimbabwean struggle into some intellectual & academic discourse...I've been wondering where we are headed..
more so as some quarters are being accused of hijacking the movement!
Who owns it?
It would seem like there is a section that feels the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement should eventually culminate into some submission by #ZanuPF, leading to a Inclusive National Dialogue, outside the POLAD nonsense which even ZanuPF doesn't take seriously.
This is more accommodating. So much so, that it can even be abused.
Anyways, another section of citizens are flabbergasted by corruption scandals & are using the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement to draw gov's attention to this vice.
Is it effective?
@mawarirej is more inclined towards ED's impeachment, on the basis of what he sees as "performance illegitimacy".
He argues that since there wasn't much contestations on MPs election, then the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter target should be the "non-performing ED".
Some of the former G40 kingpins, Jonso & Zhuwawo especially, are attempting to detoxicate Zanu & rid it of the "army element".
their letter to the ANC is testimonial to this.
can this be the end result for the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement?
The #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement has equally been used to draw the external world's and/or gov's attention to the increase in human rights abuses.
Should government begin attending to these issues, will there be citizens' satisfaction?
Another section, especially those in the MDC-A, want the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement to eventually attend to the legitimacy question.
MDC-A has been consistent in their disregard of ED's election.
they maintain that our problems are political.
Some feel the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement should result in a a National Transitional Authority/ Mechanism.
(the two are different)
Either way, those pushing for that, feel Zim needs a framework to push a Reform Agenda, culminating in a free & fair election.
Lastly, some feel, strongly, that the #ZimbabweanLivesMatter movement should necessitate the downfall of ZanuPF by any means necessary.
outside this, they feel that everything else is child's play, especially the continued call for dialogue.
do you agree?
Those "end results" are absolutely different!
which one of those exposes an attempt at hijacking the movement?
can there be unity of purpose without a common end goal?
enkosi!!
