Doing a small publishing startup was not viable. Most fail. With no funding, I sold a house to start @GarudaPrakashan.

There are costs of letting others be gatekeepers. The foreign "big publishers" may publish us sometimes, but they will still be the gatekeepers. In a moment they can throw us out of the master's house.

This is why it is important for us to start & back our own platforms.

I invite all Indic oriented authors and those who are re-considering giving their work to foreign/non-Indic publishers.

1. Ask your library to stock Garuda books.

2. Consider bulk institutional buying. Buy for your company, college, alma mater. For your children's school. Return gifts. Festival gifts. Visiting relatives.
