Tonight protesters swarmed around Senator @RandPaul and @kelleyashbypaul in Washington DC following Trump's nomination acceptance speech at the White House.

Police used bicycles to form a perimeter around them as they attempted to get him away from the crowd.
At one point, an officer and a protester got into a pushing match, causing a cop to topple partially. The senator himself seemed to try to hold the officer up.

The police managed to escort Senator and Kelley Paul into the Willard Intercontinental Hotel.
After Paul escaped into the hotel, I ran back a block East where the situation began. Although I missed most of it, you can see the aftermath.

I'm told mace was deployed and three were arrested. A huge number of officers blocked off the east and south sides of F and 13th.
Rewinding a bit, here's the beginning of the confrontation. As protesters initially surrounded the Pauls, neither said anything other than to the police.

"No justice, no peace!" the crowd chanted.
Protesters demanded that Senator @RandPaul say Breonna Taylor's name.

"White silence is violence!"

"Say her name!"

It's worth mentioning on June 11, Paul introduced the "Justice for Breonna Taylor Act."
I will have the full HD footage up but wanted to note that so far @DailyMail has licensed my footage from tonight.

Reminder to news networks that if you'd like to republish my work, you need to do the same.

Here is the full, uncut footage of what happened to Senator Rand Paul tonight when he was surrounded by protesters.

All footage available for license. Much more to come in this thread.

While Paul will likely grab the headlines, protesters did the same thing to Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones.

Jones is an African American Democrat, but controversial for his choice to endorse Trump's re-election.

Police also escorted him to his hotel as protester surrounded.
Police attempted unsuccessfully to block protesters from getting to the entrance of the hotel @RepVernonJones was at.

Things got rough momentarily, but police blocked the door itself, preventing anyone from getting inside.

"Vernon Jones is a disgrace!" yelled one protester.
Here is the HD, uncut video of the protesters surrounding
@RepVernonJones.

A raw copy of this is available for license as well, of course.

Following what happened to Rep Jones and Senator Paul, protesters blocked a bus and forced it to turn around, while some jumped onto it.

One of the protesters actually jumped inside the bus's trunk as it was turning around, and banged on the door for her friends to let her out.
Generally, protesters followed attendees of Trump's speech around. While I don't know who this couple was - or whether they are well-known - protesters also yelled "fuck Trump" at these people as they went into their hotel, and on this occasion, one spat on them.
Another couple tried getting into their hotel. When one went to open the door (which was locked) a protester told him "touch me again and I'll fuck you up."

The pair ultimately fled into the hotel parking garage. Protesters didn't enter the hotel itself.
Earlier, police got into fight with protesters just east of White House. I missed beginning of the fight, but you can see how it went: three arrests.

"If we burn this shit down, it can be rebuilt" one protester told a cop. "Jacob Blake, his body can't go back to the way it was.
The first clashes I saw with police tonight were actually as police tried to hold protesters back from a car occupied by an attendee of the event.

I didn't see arrests until the situation in the tweet above.
Here is my HD video of the clashes that happened tonight between police and protesters following Trump's speech.

Also available for license, like the videos of Rand Paul and Vernon Jones.

More footage on the way from *during* the speech.

(Long night)

Let's return to the beginning and make our way forward: At 9pm, a "disrupt Trump" protest began. Complete with a Go-Go mobile music stage, the idea was to protest so loudly that they've interrupt Trump's nomination speech itself.
The organizer said "the police nicely got out of the way" on their way there and told the crowd to clap for the cops, but then told them "stop stop, that's all they get."

He then spoke about Jacob Blake and police reform.
An activist dressed in a "baby Trump" costume stood under a basketball hoop and allowed others to dunk basketballs on his head.
The Go-Go mobile stage was blocked by police south of the White House, so protesters largely held their event at Constitution and 15th as Trump's speech progressed.
"Trump failed. 180,000+ Died" red LED lights held by protesters in the street as President Trump's speech concluded with fireworks.
Here's my full, HD footage of the protest that happened outside the White house *during* President Trump's speech. This portion of the night did remain peaceful.

As always, also available for license.

Oops, I accidentally stayed up until 6 in the morning tweeting videos. Silly me.

Buy me some coffee, because I have another full day of protests to cover tomorrow, like, in a few hours.
