First of all, there are some downballot progressives who need all the support they can in their races! @EdMarkey, @AlexBMorse, @RobbieForChange, @ihssaneleckey and others are running today against powerful incumbent Democrats who need to go. 2/
Secondly, we recognize that it's somewhat difficult to strike without mass organizing (especially with unions) and without mutual aid. Time is running out, and we figured that we should move as quickly as possible. But to survive, we need you to help address those issues. 3/
If you're part of a union, get as many people as you can on board, and refer them to genstrike.org. Connect with us and with other unions and strike movements. Spread the word. Don't act alone, and don't be alone. 4/
Even if you can't strike yet, work towards it. Network. Connect. Organize. Unionize. Raise awareness. 5/
Mutual aid is also important. Remember how the #CHAZ was able to operate fairly autonomously? That's what we should aim for. Comrades should be able to provide food, shelter and support for each other with as little involvement with the capitalist system as possible. 6/
Look up mutual aid organizations in your area. Once again, connecting and networking is key. Joining us, either via our form at genstrike.org/contact or by sending a DM to this account, will help a lot with getting you set up. 7/
We are not the end-all be-all for the #GeneralStrike. There are other organizations out there, and you can even participate simply by going on strike the "normal" way. If we get shut down by those in power, the strike must be able to operate without this particular front. 8/
If you can't strike quite yet, that's okay. You haven't missed your chance. Stay aware of what striking actions are going on around you, and organize with comrades so that you can join down the line as soon as you can. We're always there to help if you need it. 9/
We'll add to this thread over time as more things come to light. But in November, vote your conscience. However, if you truly despise both major presidential candidates, don't forget that voting @HowieHawkins and @AngelaNWalker for @GreenPartyUS is an option. 10/
If you don't want to vote for "the lesser of two evils", voting Green won't be a wasted vote. You'll help them build up their profile and reach 5%+ of votes, giving them more say in Congress and sowing the seeds for them to become a major party. 11/
