MPD have already confirmed that the shooting occurred and have one adult heading to the hospital.

I spoke to Ward 8 City Councilman @trayonwhite.
He says police tell him an 18-year-old fled from police, who recovered “two guns” after shooting him but police wouldn’t confirm the guns were on his person.
He says mom, sister, and brother he spoke to are “distraught, outraged.”

Most people left the shooting scene, but they’re calling for a protest at the District 7 DC police station at 9pm. That’s just one hour from now, about three miles from the shooting scene.

In spite of the action etc of the protest earlier, very important development was ANC Commissioner Paul Trantham (to those who don’t know - this is a local elected official) told me bodycamera footage will be released TOMORROW of the shooting.

About 20 protesters spent an hour outside Mayor Bowser’s house.
Police say she refused to have “guests” so people couldn’t go on her property; protesters responded by knocking on neighbor’s doors instead.
