Right now, activists holding jail support for protesters held this weekend from Saturday or Sunday night.

So far, I’m told the few already released had charges dropped.

Drinks, food, sanitation products, cigs, etc here for those released.
Some people are replying to this like “Ermergerd, where is the money coming from for jail support resources?”

There are like $200 worth of groceries here and like 50 people helping. This is NOT an expensive operation.
Activists clap and cheer as one person released.

Since I’ve been there, this woman + one woman who was released on charges totally unrelated to protesting have gotten out. Jail support assisted both.
Jeremy Bajko was released after being arrested two nights ago.

He says he was driving a vehicle for medics to provide aid to protesters that night when Ltn Bagshaw of MPD smashed windows, pulled him out and arrested for “reckless driving.”

Charges dropped today.
Local independent journalist @wyattreed13 caught footage of the moment in question.
Jail support listens in remotely to hearing for one comrade of theirs named Kris who it appears does have riot charges sticking but is being released right now.
Hugs, tears as activist is released. She literally runs up the ramp to her friends, who embrace her and chant “who keeps us safe? We keep us safe!”

“Fuck 12!”

She still faces felony riot charges for which she will have to return to court.
Jail support celebrates a freed comrade with champagne.
“Nobody takes care of us better than us!”

Street medic re-dresses arm and leg injuries protester sustained before being in jail.
“Fuck 12!”

Claps and cheering as another activist released.
Antifascist activist @JasonRCharter says the group ordered more pizza to the area, but that the @DCPoliceDept intercepted it.

Before this tweet, he attempted to call Lieutenant Bagshaw of MPD, who did not pick up.
Organizer explains that more people are still on docket, enough so that activists may be held overnight again, and jail support will resume 10am tomorrow after it ends in about an hour tonight.
Apparently two more activists have just been “no-papered” meaning that once they had the hearing, the charges were dropped.

They’re expected to be out shortly.
“Who takes care of us? We take care of us!”

Two more activists released just now (through a different exit than the others.) Both have been in jail for the past 17 hours on “felony riot” charges which were “no papered” (dropped) at their hearing.
I had movement journalist @ChuckModi1 explain the concept of jail support for those unfamiliar with it.
Here's my full HD video of today's jail support, including interviews with newly released activists from this weekend's #DCProtests.

As always, all footage available to license.
