In the past 4 days, 3 #deepfake videos appeared about Vice President Biden.

A "deep fake" is a video edited to change content or context, or replacing a person with another person's likeness.

Can you spot the deepfake in this article?

On Aug. 30th, Rep. Steve Scalise tweeted a doctored video of activist Ady Barkan's interview with Biden.

Words were added, and some were excluded, changing the context & meaning.

Twitter flagged the video as manipulated, and eventually removed it.

A video shared on Aug. 31st by White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Dan Scavino replaced Harry Belafonte's face with Biden's to make it look like Biden fell asleep during an interview. #disinformation

A 2nd video shared on Aug. 31st by the Trump campaign excluded some of Biden's words to change what he said and make it look like he was agreeing with Trump and Pence.

Laura Cooper, top Pentagon expert on Ukraine, told Congress that, during the summer, Trump had two possible legal options for withholding aid.

Trump chose neither option, and instead chose to keep on illegally withholding funds.

After Trump put the aid on hold on July 18, Cooper met with other Pentagon officials to determine the legality of the hold.

She told National Security personnel that if Trump wanted to block the aid to Ukraine, he had two possible options: a rescission or a reprogramming action.
Under the Impoundment Control Act, the president can seek to rescind or cancel appropriated funds.

To do so, the key is that he must send a special message to Congress explaining the decision and the rationale.
