2/ The event was hosted by Andrew Scheer, MP for Regina-Qu'Appelle, Michael Kram, who represents Regina-Wascana, and Warren Steinley, the MP for Regina-Lewvan.
3/ Those opposed to the statue say it should come down due to the fact that Macdonald created the blueprint for residential schools and deliberately starved Indigenous peoples on the plains.
4/ Three kilometres from Victoria Park. At Wascana Park, Tristen Durocher is on his 35th day of a 44 days ceremonial fast. He is calling on the government to improve its response to the province's high rates of suicide.

5/ I can’t help but think about the striking contrast between the fight for the #JohnAMacdonald statue and the ceremonial fast for suicide prevention both happening within a three kilometres radius in Regina. The statue in #yqr is the last one standing on the Prairies. #skpoli

7/ Tristen Durocher will appear in front of a judge at Court of Queen's Bench in Regina tomorrow morning. The Saskatchewan government is seeking a court order to have his teepee removed from the lawn of the provincial legislature.
