Thread : The week that was.

Australia : The National party in New South Wales was going to blow the Coalition government in that State apart, after the Premier said that her Koala habitat plans were going ahead, the National Party (probably like the SNP) was prepared to do this
because they don't like the idea that farmers can't do what they like with their land. It isn't their land anyway, it belongs to the Australian First Nations. On tgat point, 3 of the top Directors of an Australian mining company have been forced to resign after they destroyed
(The company) destroyed some 46000 year old Aboriginal caves, the were an archaelogical goldmine and they were destroyed so the company could extend a coal mine, to my way of thinking those three should be in prison.
On a slightly better note (for me personally) #Covid cases in
Melbourne are on their wat down, 44 reported cases today, with I think 4 fatalities. One piece of disturbing news is that the National Party in the Victorian Senate, actually sent out "Stubbie" holders through AustraliaPost to the residents in a tower block, good on Australia
Post for not delivering them, modt of the families who live in the tower blocks are Muslim, Substance users (I include alcohol in this). Then she sent a hand written note "No hard feelings". That's the week that was in Australia, except for what was the National Party doing
to put a bomb under the government of New South Wales, during a pandemic at all times? In the words of one NSW senator "The man's a serious fool (paraphrasing - don't need a ban on this right now).

The week that was in America.

Well, on this one there is so much to say and so
much to say and so little space in which to say it.
It apoears that the whole way through this whole situation #DonaldTheDump has been lying is botton off. From day one he was saying that "It's just like the seasonal flu", "come the warmer weather it will disappear like magic"
"We have the best track and trace system in the world" the next minute he tells a reporter writing a book in which every word he says is going to be used in said publication that "This is a very dangerous situation, it doesn't only live on surfaces, but it lives in the air,
surfaces are easy, you don't have to touch them, the air you have to breath". Now for me this constitutes at the very least #NegligentHomicide after 195000 people have died in the US. There are also problems financially with his campaign, according to some Australian sources his
his campaign donations are drying up, according to ABC's "Fireside Chat" today Mr Trump is expecting to put $100,000,000 of his own money into it (question - is it actually his own money?). Talk about buying the Presidency of The United States? Anyway with the pandemic comes the
start of the US fire season, having seen pictures of the destruction wrought, it is obvious to this commentator that Climate Change is alive and kicking, it seems obvious to the governor of California too, not a word about it from #Trump. I wonder why?
The week that was UK.

Now this is also a hard one for me personally as I am a citizen of the UK.
Now I've had some bad PM's in my 49 year existence, since I started getting involved in politics, Margaret Thatcher, for one, but I don't think I have yet had one which is as
#Neglectful or downright #Homicidal as the last two, @theresa_may and #BumblingBoris. I am sorry but if this is the best of the crop we need to find a new orchard. Firstly, his handling of the #Covid19UK virus has been almost non -existent. He has been shutting parluament
itself a crime against the people, he's spent tax payers money on things that don't make a lot of sense, including #PPE for #ournhsheroes that doesn't work, he has and is killing people due to his intansigence, I mean we all knew that sending kids back to school (secondary and
primary kids - those at public schools are still at home staying safe) this taking away the himan rights of parents and guardians saying thst those who keep their children at home will be fined. As we have seen those who have and are willing to pay those fines (there's a decent
defence in the Human Rights Act, The Right To Life comes to mind. Not only that but now we will have people wandering around in high - viz telling us what to do and how to do it. These people will be called #CovidMarshalls, although they will not have powers to enforce the rules.
What use are they, why do they need a salary of £30000 per year? What will they be doing for that money? If you ask me it's just another way to give SERCO (in charge of track and trace) and G4S yet more of taxpayers money for yet another cock up waiting to happen, bit people this
Is not the really bad stuff.
The really bad stuff is that #BumblingBoris has decided that he is going to be the UK PM who is going to break International Law, he is going to bring forward a piece of legislation that would basically make our Withdrawal Agreement with the EU null
and void, that is to say that he could put up legislation on that and other thos and these laws would not need to get passed parliament, that means we are officially moving away from a democratic state and getting into a totalitarian one, this we must not allow to happen. As we
have all been taught in schools in history classes, a certain German Corporal was allowed to do that and we all know what happened there don't we?
Anyway that was the week that was in the UK.

Kerry Anne Mendoza made some
very good points this morning when she said the government is "Gaslighting" us all the time. They are treating us like mushrooms, keeping us in the dark and feeding us manure once a day, instead of being able to grow healthily and flourish. I believe
that the world is changing, let's face it since the turn of the year, lots of things have changed, yes we've lost some of our freedoms, but there is a fundamental change happening. #BlackLivesMatterUK is not just about police brutality, it's also about the economic and
institutional #racism of those in power over us, for example the way #Trump is handling the protests in America, he thinks that a show of force is going to work. Sorry Donald but I don't see it that way, you cannot stop a movement, the clue is in the word, a MOVEMENT is like
