Yes, Al-Qaeda was responsible for 9/11. But Al-Qaeda did not act alone. US Federal Courts have repeatedly held that IRAN and its proxy HEZBOLLAH were directly and materially responsible for the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. Here is the rest of the story.

The 9/11 Commission report stated “there is strong evidence" implicating Iran and Hezbollah, requiring "further investigation by the US government.” Based on that, in 2004 hundreds of 9/11 families brought the case "Havlish et al v. Bin-Laden, Iran, et al" to Federal court.

After 7 yrs, in 2011 Judge George B. Daniels of the US District Court in Manhattan issued “Findings of Fact and Conclusions of Law” that “The Islamic Republic of Iran…engaged in and supported terrorism as an instrument of foreign policy..” including aiding and abetting Al-Qaeda.

The Federal Court directly implicated Iran and Hezbollah in the 9/11 attack, stating that they
• Aided 9/11 hijackers by concealing their travel to Al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan.
• Falsified the 9/11 hijackers passports so that they could get visas to America.

• Helped Al-Qaeda leaders escape Afghanistan after the US invasion, and provided safe haven inside Iran.
• Iran used front companies to obtain a Boeing 757-767-777 flight simulator for training the terrorists.

• Iran designed plans for attacking the US code-named Shaitan dar Atash (Satan in Flames) incl crashing hijacked passenger planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon, and White House.
• Just before 9/11 Iran sent coded messages that Shaitan dar Atash had been activated.

• Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, was aware of the impending attacks and instructed intelligence operatives to restrict communications to specific Al-Qaeda and Hezballah contacts.

The Court also found that even before 9/11 the Iran-Hezbollah-Al-Qaeda alliance orchestrated the following terror attacks against the US:
- Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia (1996)
- US embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania (1998)
- attack on the USS Cole (2000)

Despite this, 3 successive Presidential admins blocked action against Iran. The Bush and Clinton administrations both erroneously fixated on Iraq, with disastrous consequences.

But the 2011 Federal Court ruling revealed overwhelming evidence of Iran's complicity in 9/11. The Obama Administration had a chance to pursue justice. But the court's ruling was counter to the Obama Admin's Iran policy.

Pursuing the #IranDeal, the US govt lifted over $50B in sanctions against Iran stating it would help Iran become "a very successful regional power."
Iran got $50 Billion.
9/11 families got $0.

In 2016 Congress passed the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act. In 2018 a Federal judge upheld all charges & awarded over $7B to 9/11 families. Today there are over $50B in outstanding US Court judgments against Iran and Hezbollah for terrorism against US citizens.

Conclusions:
~ Without Iran, there is no 9/11.
~ We fought the wrong country in Iraq.
~ The Iran Deal was an insult to the memory of all those murdered on 9/11.
~ Iran and its proxies have been America's real enemy for decades and continue to be.
