In May, Katie Hopkins lied, falsely linking criminals to @FPMosque

After the mosque's perseverance, she apologised on Instagaram *at midnight* & acknowledged "the contributions made by the Mosque to society"

Lies cannot be spread with impunity. Great work @FPMosque! Image
Finsbury Park Msoque has tweeted about it (
), and their full statement is on this site

A Saudi-coalition airstrike on a family home in Yemen murdered women & children in the latest evidence of potential war crimes (Sky)

Yet the UK gvt continues to provide arms & support Saudi's campaign in Yemen, the world's *largest* humanitarian disaster!
news.sky.com/story/yemen-ev…
As @AlexCrawfordSky reported last week, Yemen children's hospitals are the 'closest thing to hell on Earth'.

Our UK government continues its weapon sales and support for the Saudi regime and its allies, whilst 80% of the population are reliant on aid

ICYMI: The United Nations (via the Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts on Yemen) called out the UK as one of the countries perpetuating the conflict due to its weapon sales to the Saudi regime & its allies (Page 5)

Charles Moore as chair of the BBC is scary for many reasons, one of which is his awful views on Muslims

See thread here:

It is shocking someone like this is even in the running & it is indicative of how entrenched Islamophobia is in our public space
Just imagine, this is a man who is frightened by Islam at times

spectator.co.uk/article/we-mig…
Only a few years ago, he published this, showing his concerns ostensibly about Islam - albeit actually about Muslims

There are many good critiques of this new chilling government guidance for PSHE, but I'd like to highlight in particular:

1. The government expects Muslim *children* to *have to* condemn actions of terrorists who claim to act in the name of Islam

gov.uk/guidance/plan-…
This is outrageous. The idea of having to condemn the actions of those you have nothing to do with, is unacceptable in general & even more so, for young children

It is important children learn that they aren't responsible for the actions of others, and have no duty to condemn
2. The choice to exclude Islamophobia from the guidance (noting government line that it is not a type of racism so is not included *at all*) not only speaks to the way the gvt prioritises the racism that suits it politically

It also speaks to how Islamophobia is totally ignored

This is truly appalling.

Lies about Muslims & terrorism continue to be published & the same "mistakes" keep on being made.

Is it really too much to expect basic due dilegence before making such an incendiary headline?
Here the Mirror claimed in their headline that a man shouted Allahu Akbar as part of a bomb threat at the Eiffel Tower.

This was "fake news" according to the police & Eiffel Tower spokespeople.

The Mirror have now changed their headline.
There is just no excuse. This is not a new issue.

At the @cfmmuk we issued a full report highlighting the serious issues in media reporting on terrorism

This is only the tip of the iceberg

The largest Muslim organisations in Harrow have united to demand Conservative Councillor Kamaljit Chana be removed after he said “Muslims are violent” & “I do not like Muslims” #Islamophobia

The Muslim organisations make it clear this is not a one-off, citing inaction following Islamophobia by MP Bob Blackman & Cllr. Anjana Patel

This shows a serious concern amongst Muslims about #Islamophobia within the Conservative Party in Harrow, reflecting the national picture
