Here's a thread on the series of lies about NV that POTUS told this morning with former journalist Maria Bartiromo. As I have said, none of this should be allowed to go unchallenged, even though he keeps repeating the same lies over and over.
Here's an annotated transcript:
1/
"These are— these are conmen. These are cheaters that we're dealing with. In Nevada, they don't want to have any signature on the ballots."
There is no evidence anyone wants to cheat in NV. Trump has said multiple times no signature is needed on mail ballots.
This is false.
2/
"Here's a real beauty. You know, he comes out of— he comes out of the political party. He got to be governor."
This is about @GovSisolak. He "comes out of a political party" makes almost as much sense as calling him a "clubhouse governor."
Gibberish.
Sayeth Baritromo?
Nada.
3/
@GovSisolak "You can't even get a site— if you want to make a speech in Nevada, you can't even get a site. I got a site because I'm president. But you can't even get a site. It's very hard to get a political site to make a speech for— to have thousands of people show up...."
4/
@GovSisolak "...to have them all over the place. But, you know, he makes it so it's very difficult. Anybody else can't get a site and he's in charge of the ballots."
Trump's rallies violated state and WH guidelines. Sisolak did nothing to stop them. One airport said no; other never asked.
5/
@GovSisolak Sisolak is not in charge of the ballots. The GOP SOS is.
Trump has said this over and over again.
Did Bartiromo ask him what he means?
Of course not.
6/
@GovSisolak "And there's bad things happening out there.
Now, we have law enforcement watching him, very strong. The U.S. attorney is watching him, very strongly."
There is no evidence any of that is true.
Let me repeat: Dems usually in statewide races in NV. If anyone needed to cheat...
7/
@GovSisolak Bottom line:
I hate to have to keep correcting the POTUS lies. But Bartiromo is essentially part of Trump's campaign and not a real questioner.
He will, I am sure, keep lying about NV. And I will continue to point out when he does while GOPers here stand silent.

"TRUMP ENGINEERED A SUDDEN WINDFALL IN 2016 AS CAMPAIGN FUNDS DWINDLED"
"Tax records expose more than $21 million in highly unusual payments from the Las Vegas hotel Donald Trump owns with Phil Ruffin, routed through other Trump companies and paid out in cash."
"The bulk of the money went through a company called Trump Las Vegas Sales and Marketing that had little previous income, no clear business purpose and no employees. The Trump-Ruffin joint venture wrote it all off as a business expense."
"Unless the payments were for actual business expenses, he said, claiming a tax deduction for them would be illegal. If they were not legitimate and were also used to fund Mr. Trump’s presidential run, they could be considered illegal campaign contributions."
Big news via @meganmesserly: The Reno airport has informed the owners of an airport hangar -- including two well-known Reno businessmen, one of whom is the head of a conservative think tank -- that this weekend's Trump rally violates the state directive on in-person gatherings.
@meganmesserly Response to @meganmesserly's exclusive is for Laxalt & Co. to spin rallies had been canceled by the gov? Pure gaslighting. 1. They knew the rules going in. 2. The rallies were not "canceled" by anyone except the Trump campaign. McCarran was never even asked about a rally.
Republican president sues Republican secretary of state over NV elections bill.
(She opposed the bill but had to be named as chief elections officer.)
And now I know why Schlapp said ballots can be cast three days after Election Day. That is central to this lawsuit, that if you can't be sure when the ballot was postmarked so it might have been mailed after Election Day. This case could be precedent-setting. Folks: #WeMatter
