Stick to a regular rhythm for your content. If you publish your content weekly, every Monday - do try and stick to that.
💡Be clear & concise in your description of your content
Remember that people do not have time to decode what your content is.
💡 Share snippets/excerpts of your content to build interest
I use @wavve to create snippets of the podcast to share on social media
💡Leveraging your social media part 1:
Your social media is a low cost channel that you can leverage. Growing your social media engagement is key (engagement, not numbers)
💡 Carve out a “recognisable” voice online.
Your interactions shouldn’t always be transactional (e.g asking pple to check out your content). You should also include non-transactional interactions which are:
i) informative
ii) sharing other pple’s content
💡 Leveraging your social media part 2:
Remember that your friends, your social media timeline are not automatically your audience.
For example, if you are starting a podcast - your Twitter timeline will not automatically convert to listeners.
💡So it’s important to not assume that your content will resonate.
If you’re a podcaster or YouTuber - you’re more likely to get an increase in audience if another podcast or YouTuber signposts their audience to you.
💡 So it’s always advisable to be part of a tribe of other creatives to help amplify each other’s work. This leads me to the
📌Networking thread
Sharing your content with the world can be very scary, this is because the content that we create is to some extent a piece of ourselves. In this thread, I’m going to give you guys some tips on how you can gain the confidence to share your content.
First tip! Don’t be scared of criticism, instead embrace it!
Sometimes we are so scared of what people will think or say about our content. This fear can be so intense that it can stop from posting content because we seek validation and approval from people on the social media.
Whatever negative feedback you may get from people, it’s up to you to decide how you will let it affect yourself. You can either cry about the whole day(not recommended😂) or you can use that criticism to build you. USE THAT CRITICISM TO YOUR ADVANTAGE.
I only have 24 hours so this is likely to be my goodnight thread (also i'm tired now ). Please feel free to ask me any questions at this stage while I round up . I'd like to share some reflections that bring together all the different projects i twote (shh allow)
BUT FIRST , have you subscribed to "Amanda and Banele" , it's honestly really interesting . I promise
#Cottage47 This is a group of individuals that almost instantly became like family to me. We’re a hub of people coming together to be great. Raising mental health awareness through various expressions of creativity. Music , art , poetry etc .
I really genuinely urge you to bookmark what I’m about to share and give it a chance. Once you understand each individual, you’ll start to understand what we’re trying to do as a whole 🙏🏾
So my earliest memory of this , i was say 4/5 years old ? Idk. Maybe earlier. Apparently I used to talk ALOT and I had all sorts of opinions and questions. I was also pretty sharp for a kid. So my mam’omncane said to me “Ah Ama , I think you should be a lawyer “
I didn’t know what a lawyer was. But BOY did she sell me dreams . She made it sound so cool and amazing. & the most important part was that she made me believe @ that small age that I , Mina , uAmanda Sihle Ndlovu , I could it 🙏🏾
