This was 4 days after I risked my Epidemiology career on line to publicly warn the world.

We have to keep spreading the message and eventually win the fight against #COVID19.

Visualization of aerosols. They are different from large droplets. Aerosols stay airborne—that’s why they facilitate coronavirus transmission. #COVID19 (this video from CO2 imaging, but similar phenomenon as smoking & virus aerosols)
2) Contrast that with aerosols when masked. Night and day. The Japanese knew it was airborne from the beginning and took measures to ensure aerosol safety early.
3) How is aerosol different from large droplets? This. Also typical air exchange usually means aerosols in air every 20 min to 4 hrs, depending on ventilation. #COVID19

Breaking—Dr Conley now claims Trump is not infectious. He cites CDC criteria, yet CDC clearly says severe #COVID19 cases are infectious for 20 days. And his viral load might be down, but he also has synthetic antibodies. Synthetic doesn’t equal immunity. Ct value also unreported. ImageImage
2) Notice that Conley never says PCR test is negative. He just says higher Ct value is correlated with lower viral load. But he never said zero viral load. And again, it could just be suppressed by the synthetic monoclonal antibody and Remdesivir, not true immunity.
3) also studies show that dexamethasone (a corticosteroid) extends the period of infectiousness of #SARSCoV2 #COVID19 beyond even 20 days!!! Image

To be clear—We epidemiologists think Trump is likely still infectious because CDC states infectiousness is ~20 days if severe #COVID19, 10 days if mild. Given Trump got dexamethasone—which WHO&CDC say is only for severe/critical cases, Trump falls in the 20 days infectious group. Image
2) This longer infectiousness because of Trump #COVID19 severity is further supported by his admission to having lung swelling.
3) Furthermore, studies show that if one takes a corticosteroid like dexamethasone, then you will continue to shed virus longer, because it suppresses your immune system. Image

HELL YEAH! The editors of NEJM (most prestigious medical journal in the world) has effing had it with the Trump WH destroying the CDC and FDA and muzzling the NIH. Basically @NEJM editorial gave the middle finger to Trump today. nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…
