My thoughts on the importance of Trumps re-election to Johnson and the Atlantacists like Fox and Davis... The internal market bill is likely to be currently 'parked' awaiting the POTUS outcome. If Trump wins - then it's literally the middle finger to Northern Ireland
If Biden wins - Johnson is (even more) backfooted - and is cap in hand to the EU. They'll be strengthened by a Biden victory, and the delivery of no-deal becomes almost impossible to justify even to the Brexity base. Meaning one thing:
A number of 'individual' extensions to implementation such as the mooted fishing 3 year one. The ERG might want no practical arrangements, but the lack of systems to run borders (passports for Kent - really?) non-rolled over MRA's and the cocophony of other things that make
no-deal with no arrangements practically impossible to actually deliver, mean we are firmly in divorce territory here. Yes, we left the EU in January. I get that. Decree Nisi. The end of implementation will be Decree Absolute. And there is the analogy. I was doubtful they
would enact no-deal under Trump. I think it's enaction under Biden makes no sense practically or politically for the Tories. This is in extra time now. And I don't think Brexit is over. In any way.
