Advocate Nikhil Mishra appearing for the news channel points out that the channel is willing to submit to the injunction.

Dr. Tulzapurkar appearing for Richa argues that the news channel should withdraw all existing posts on Richa.
Court asks Adv. Gadkari what stand is Kamaal R. Khan taking.

Gadkari informs that Kamaal R. Khan is willing to make a statement that he won't make any further comments.

Court asks him categorically if he is contesting or not.
Court records that the suit against Payal Ghosh ends as she and Richa have reached a settlement.

The Court records that Kamaal R. Khan and the news channel will contest the suit.

The Court grants Kamaal R. Khan 4 weeks to file a reply.
Time is granted to the contesting defendants to file written statement.

Three-judge bench led by Justice Ashok Bhushan overrules the 2006 S.R. Batra And Anr vs Smt. Taruna Batra verdict wherein it was said that a wife only has rights over the property of her husband. Court rules that the wife has rights over the shared household too.

Senior Advocate Nidhesh Gupta for the respondent daughter in law had argued that if it is a joint family property then the totality of the case needs to be seen and that she has a right to reside in the house. The top court has accepted the submission.
Court also held that rights available under the Domestic Violence Act is not restricted to the domestic violence act only.
