Ever since I shaved off my hair, when I’m outside now and wearing a mask, I can tell several people are confused and trying to figure out my gender.

I didn’t enjoy that when I was younger and had very short hair. Now I genuinely do enjoy their confusion.
Two women at a park today double taked in puzzlement and it was just fine for me.
That was one of the reasons I shaved it all off - I wanted to go back to the “Are you a boy or a girl?” days and handle it with the power I didn’t have then. patreon.com/posts/39707653
When I look in the mirror, the girl I used to be keeps challenging me, insisting I reckon, finally, with femininity, with the masculine in me... patreon.com/posts/40045793
What does the revolution have to do with hair? patreon.com/posts/40136781

I’ve been doing a lot of writing out loud these past few months. Trying out ideas and new ways to share my writing.

These are super fucking intense times and I’m experimenting with what I can.

Prosecutors now say it was an attempted robbery and not sexual harassment that preceded the dragging murder of this young woman. The original arrest warrant charged the men with sexual harassment. I believe they dropped that when they saw the public outcry. #Egypt

I said yesterday and I say again and again, “originalists” treat the US Constitution the way people of faith treat their holy books - Bible, Quran, etc and insist you cannot change a word.
And they refuse to brook that society today is not the society for which the edicts were once applicable hundreds of years ago because, they say, those holy books and the US Constitution are for all times.
People of faith will tell you that you can’t change a word because they believe their books are the literal word of God.

Are “originalists” saying that the white men who wrote the US Constitution are gods?

When the State punishes rape victims and not rapists, when the State itself is a rapist, predatory and patriarchal, it gives a greenlight that women’s bodies can be abused and broken by all.

Thank you all who have been pointing out to @nytopinion that👇🏽is fucked up. @WajahatAli I didn’t tag you earlier because I too was a contributing oped writer for NYT (2014-18) and know that writers don’t write headlines. But writers can say “That’s identical to Mona’s, change it”
I wrote this on Sept. 27: If Amy Coney Barrett Was a Muslim feministgiant.substack.com/p/if-amy-coney… #AmyConeyBarrett
And this is one of the reasons that the way you’ve headlined this @nytopinion is a problem that needs fixing
