I have not missed commercials...
For me, watching @JoeBiden in his #TownHall is a lovely way to end my evening.

I see a knowledgeable & experienced man trying his best to help a diseased country.

No, he’s not perfect. I disagree w/some of his policies... but the preservation of our democracy is more important.
If you’re still thinking of voting for @realDonaldTrump , consider that voting will be a practice he would work to abolish.

Your voice, your vote, your freedom won’t matter.

We have been in a perpetual state of a constitutional crisis from the beginning.

This isn’t sports...
You don’t have to vote republican because of a “that’s my team!”...mentality.

If the New England Patriots win/lose, our freedom isn’t threatened.

Vote for your country’s freedom, not a failed reality show, train wreck. Your freedom is worth more than rose colored glasses pride.
Did I just see a macaroni and cheese commercial with an Enya song?! WTAF?!

I’ve not seen broadcast commercials in about 5 years.

It’s like watching a strange world I know little about...

Hi @steveashleyplus and everyone who responded to his post.

Science is often directed and impeded by politics. Politics controls what we study in multiple facets.

The gross misrepresentation of science by this administration giving us scientists further abuse by citizens ( 🧵)
...is the last straw.

We have politics to thank for our horrible science literacy in this country due to DEFUNDING education over and over again.

We have politics to thank for stopping scientists from do life saving research through stem cells.

Politics is hurting science...
...Now we have a large portion of the population who think scientists are lying to them because a willfully ignorant, racist, sexist, bigoted, narcissist is telling them what to believe consistently thru lying and gaslighting our people.

Science is pushing back saying NO MORE!

I am not perfect and expect genuine people to correct me when I’m wrong.

I think the US is so tumultuous and raw right now from the increasing amount of injustice, corruption, and manipulation...That everyone is on edge.

I actually cried watching the Townhall tonight...
I cried because I thought for a moment that we might be ok if we could just remove the horrid administration and it’s enablers in the Senate.

We might get to see productive change. We might get to see real programs develop to aid the least of us.

I know our country is in peril
I know people are hurting, suffering, and dying.

I can’t do much except what I do at my job and here in helping to make the world a better place...

A lot of what I do is educate people who are in poverty. A large portion of my students are in the black and brown community...

Dear @jk_rowling

I take anti anxiety meds as my panic attacks are crippling. I can’t take birth control because they fuel depression in me. I can’t function while on certain meds and can’t function without certain meds.

Hormone therapy is essential for mental health for many.
I’ve had anxiety my entire life. It’s not lazy to recognize an imbalance in body chemistry.

You’re a disgrace to women @jk_rowling.

You do far more damage than good. I’m ashamed that I’ve supported your work. You need mental help. I hope you get it as you’re becoming a monster.
Your oppressive rhetoric... because of your station in life... is being used to hurt trans women.

You are no expert in womanhood anymore than Donald Trump is in compassion.

Sit down. Read books other than your own...preferably science ones as you’re ignorant on that. Be quiet.

When I taught high school science, I had students write an essay (after they had learned about Katherine Johnson) on how different the world would be if we had included all races and genders in science from the beginning...(Thread)
An African American male student wrote the essay basically stating that
1. it wouldn't be much different because women have no place outside of the home.

2. There are only 2 genders. Women are supposed to serve men.

3. God wants it this way.

He completely disregarded the...
..fact he would have be shunned as well. He didn't address this. He focused his entire essay on women staying at home.

It didn't matter that he had be exposed to do many stories of marginalized people in science who discovered amazing things.

He also had disrespectful behavior
