When I taught high school science, I had students write an essay (after they had learned about Katherine Johnson) on how different the world would be if we had included all races and genders in science from the beginning...(Thread)

1. it wouldn't be much different because women have no place outside of the home.
2. There are only 2 genders. Women are supposed to serve men.

..fact he would have be shunned as well. He didn't address this. He focused his entire essay on women staying at home.
It didn't matter that he had be exposed to do many stories of marginalized people in science who discovered amazing things.

...towards me even to the last day. He was rude to me regularly and acted out even to the point of swearing and having a threatening posture towards me.
When people deny history...deny facts...if it suits them, they rationalize it in order to maintain cobtrol of others....

They will do impressive mental back flips to rationalize and validate oppressive ideologies to suit their perspectives.
