I am not perfect and expect genuine people to correct me when I’m wrong.

I think the US is so tumultuous and raw right now from the increasing amount of injustice, corruption, and manipulation...That everyone is on edge.

I actually cried watching the Townhall tonight...

I cried because I thought for a moment that we might be ok if we could just remove the horrid administration and it’s enablers in the Senate.

We might get to see productive change. We might get to see real programs develop to aid the least of us.

I know our country is in peril

I know people are hurting, suffering, and dying.

I can’t do much except what I do at my job and here in helping to make the world a better place...

A lot of what I do is educate people who are in poverty. A large portion of my students are in the black and brown community...

I cannot know truly what it is they go through in their life experiences.

I do my best to learn and give them a space where they can feel safe knowing that I will support them as much as I can.

I recognize I am in a position of privilege. I worked really hard to get here...

With that said, I can impress upon them the importance of critical thinking, kindness, compassion, education, and that they do have an ally in me.

Part of that responsibility is recognizing that sometimes my role is to sit and listen.

I know they listen to me. I’m here for them

They also know I stand up for myself when I need to...they know I will stand up for them if I need to... I also know I will hold them accountable for what they do.
