Bellingcat cannot resist pushing one selective half-truth after another into their propaganda tube. This time it is a suddenly "leaked" letter from Arias (OPCW) that says absolutely nothing new except...
bellingcat.com/news/mena/2020…
It shows a very questionable and lax attitude of Arias to conclude from the presence of chlorine to the use of a weapon.
The chemistry / idea behind this letter has been known since Bellingcat's "No one bleaches a chandelier! article. And we have already chewed this through and through. But let us summarize it again.
A 260kg (when full) cylinder hits - allegedly - horizontally on a roof. Therefore it is horizontally - and only horizontally - deformed. But the valve, which had to cut horizontally through the concrete, suffered no significant damage.
We know, the hole in the roof is too short to allow the cylinder to pass horizontally. But passing horizontally is the only way to explain the damage to the cylinder.
A meticulous analysis of the image material proves this.
So Bellingcat came up with a really stupid idea and claimed that the on-site drawings of the engineers are wrong. They picked a scale and shrunk the cylinder!!! which reminds of a bad schoolboy joke.
In fact, the enineer's-drawing is very precise and for explanation, the drawing shows the actual size of the hole in the roof, while Bellingcat chose the top edge, because the hole is about 10cm wider at the top edge.
A few milliseconds later, the cylinder hit the floor and, according to Arias' OPCW report, it "bounced" on the bed thanks to its residual speed.
As proof, the report shows the image of a finite element analysis by those anonymous external ballistics experts.
However, this FEA proves the opposite. The two graphs limit the possible range between
a) not break through the roof and
b) strike through the floor
and in this whole area the cylinder could not bounce further than 40cm!!!
Before the cylinder came to rest on the bed, Arias' OPCW and her Bellincat-post-truthers had already lied at least 3 times with all their might and tried to twist the facts. But let's see more...
The first video of this cylinder came from Bilal. He shows the bed in a whitish coloration, which can only be caused by an icing of the surface, because it disappeared the next day, while the polystyrene balls did not move.
However, icing occurs ONLY in contact with liquid Cl - i.e. vapor. If a leak is large enough to allow liquid chlorine to reach the blanket, the cylinder would be empty in about 5 minutes.
The video of OPCW-country-X-witness Bilal was taken 12 hours after the alleged attack.
Another video was shot 24 hours later by Bilal's friend, another OPCW-country-X witness. The blanket now had its actual brown color with a woven pattern.
In this video you can hear the birds chirping in front of the window, which is about to become very relevant!
Finally, Bellingcat partner Forensic Architecture came up with an incredible anal-ysis. They produced a crippled cylinder model, showed it in absurd perspectives, identified dust as gradually melting frost and such nonsense more, but...
They also presented a previously unknown video of this bed cylinder, which was fed to them by those activists loyal to Jaish al Islam. This video was recorded 48 hours after the alleged gas attack.
The main argument of Forensic Architecture was the "hissing" noise of the gas.
This hissing 48 hours after the alleged attack and 12 hours after silence and birdsong proves only one thing: these activists turned the valve open and closed as they needed it for their videos.
And now that we know without a doubt that chlorine was discharged over the bed several times by OPCW-country-X witnesses, we can talk about the Arias letter quoted by Bellingcat and its probative value for the use of chemical weapons.
We may also wonder why Aria's OPCW report found no hint for the use of bleach, even though several victims had apparently bathed in it.
We can ask ourselves why the OPCW was transformed into a blaming institution but despite lists with completely different victim names, and despite Syrian offers neither autopsy nor any identification was done.
We may wonder why ALL witnesses who stayed in Douma have been removed from Arias' OPCW report as untrustworthy. ...but their hosing images were widly (mis)used like little Omrah and even Bana .
We can wonder about the twin crater, the fire below a bright white frozen cylinder in a black and sooty hole, the neclegted fragmentation pattern, missing dust on surfaces, missing damage...
In the end we talk about two institutions who do NOTHING but narrative control in color.
No, P. Hitchens @ClarkeMicah and A. Mate @aaronjmate, this letter changes absolutely nothing.
It is irrelevant and therefore it was never mentioned.
But voter/tax payer/war player like Bob und Polly should think that Bellingcat has something.
P.S. Since you cannot use the same rocket motor twice and the scatches along the body were caused by inertia, we have evidence that the very same players faked chemical attacks before.

Today 6 years ago the tragedy of #MH17 happened. Only minutes later, Russia was declared guilty. Since then, a battle of information has raged with little "evidence". One of the most convincing evidence is this photo, isn't it?
Based on this photo, the alleged launch site of a BUK missile was quickly found. First it was a burnt piece of grass at the western edge of the field, later Bellingcat moved its launch site to the tree, because the BUK tracks were supposedly visible there.
To consider the tracks as "BUK tracks" is questionable. They are located opposite a passageway to the neighbouring field and became first visible when the harvest had started on this neighbouring field. In 2015 the tracks disappeared, 2016 similar tracks were visible again.

@OPCW A look back how we got here:
Saraquib 4/29/2013: One of the first Sarin attacks allegedly by the SyAAF was carried out with plastic grenades, which were seen only days before in the hands of Al-Nusra in a Turkish-Syrian border town, where these fighters were trained + equipped.
@OPCW The filmed symptoms did not look like sarin, and an initial autopsy of the only fatality initially yielded nothing, although the Turkish laboratories searched specifically for sarin. Only a second autopsy revealed traces of sarin and the explanation was questionable.
@OPCW The only 'conclusive' evidence finally came from the French secret service, which received a (after 3000m fall) undamaged grenade from Al-Nusra. Unfortunately the x-ray shows that the fuse mechanism of this allegedly sarin-filled grenade was replaced.

After a first look at the IIT (OPCW) report, I have to say that it looks like a rebranding of old evidence to construct a somehow halfway credible narrative.
The opus revolves around the assertion that the SAA wanted to reclaim territories that it had lost to advancing HTS.
And while the SAA concentrated mainly on Aleppo, 6000 HTS fighters and suicide bombers had gathered north of Hama to launch a major offensive (see dotted line).en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hama_offe… Why Assad decided to use Sarin, but not against the 6000 fighters remains questionable.
At the time of the alleged Sarin attacks, the SAA had retaken most of the lost territory. After that, this line remained almost unchanged for two years, probably because of other priorities. The strategic benefit of a sarin attack on a field is therefore highly questionable.

Last straw, @EliotHiggins, to save a fake investigation?

Your Country X witnesses opened and closed the valve and distributed the effect via video on YouTube before they became "witnesses". ImageImageImage
Why could the medical workers not move? 11yr old Hassan Diab moved. He was called to the hospital. He moved like allegedly up to 500 people according to some sources. The White Helmet in your deleted balcony video was on the road with a stretcher. He moved too. ImageImageImage
The collapsing small rebel group was called Jaish al Islam. The were brutal, @EliotHiggins. Here is what this little pocket was: vimeo.com/257350289 Image

IMO this is clearly not the case since the images in the report not even represent a serious simulation. Let's dive a little into it because not many seem to recognize the problem that these illustrations represent.
Time zero represents the moment when the cylinder strikes the bedroom floor. At this moment the blue cylinder has a speed of 10m/s and the orange cylinder a speed of 25m/s.
As we will see later, these two speeds have a reason. They are not randomly chosen values. Image
From the moment of impact to standstill, the blue cylinder moves for 1.8ms at an average speed of 5m/s.
The orange cylinder moves for 2ms at an average speed of 15ms and then another 2.2ms at an average speed of 2.5m/s. Image

More fake investigation stuff from the Postthruthbenders at #Bellingcat.
So, the engineer Henderson was wrong and Captain Underpans was right?
Is there any reason to rescale the cylinder without rescaling the crater?
youtube.com/watch?time_con…
If this Bellingcat image is scaled to a 1.66m crater then the Bellingcat cylinder becomes a 1.35 x 0.32 meters nonsense. ImageImage
And the funny thing is that the 1.66m doesn't really change even if you rotate the crater. The Bellingcat cylinder is just too small. ImageImage
