Press Release of Republic TV states that police arrest has been carried out in a closed case in a malicious-ridden and motivated attempt to punish the Republic Media Network.
The release mentions that the Raigad police had investigated in the suicide case of Anvay Nail and the investigation was closed by the Court after a closure report was filed.
Goswami has been been arrested for allegedly abetting the suicide (S.306 IPC) of Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik Directors Concorde Designs along with 2 other accused.
The FIR records note by Naik which blames Goswami and two others for the financial woes of their company.
Goswami’s arrest along with Feroz Shaikh MD of iCastX/ Skimedia and Nitesh Darda owner of Smart works, Magarpatta, Baner project after Raigad Police apprised the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Alibaug that they will begin the re-investigation in the Naik suicide case.
The investigations had been re-started as per the directions of the Home Minister of Maharashtra.
Arnab has been produced before the magistrate again after finishing his medical examination.
The remand application of Arnab Goswami will be heard anytime now but the Alibaug Court.

Alibaug Police has sought 14 police custody of Goswami on the grounds that they have re-opened the investigation and have been making a headway in the investigation.
Further, Goswami being an influential person, may tamper in the investigation process.
1. the “A” summary had been accepted by the Court on April 24, 2019 and then the case was closed. Thereafter an order to re-investigate was passed…
… but it was not on record.
2. As the “A” summary report was accepted, became final and not challenged by another court, any further investigation by the #RaigadPolice is illegal.
Advocate Gaurav Parkar for #ArnabGoswami confirmed that all remand grounds of the application were rejected by the Court, which is why police custody was rejected.
He added that bail application has been filed which will be heard in a day or two.
Parkar mentioned that they will push for an early hearing once the reply of the Investigating Officer and the Public Prosecutor is filed.
