If you would like to #DefendTheFaith, the best way to do that is to emulate Christ. "Love one another as I have loved you" is his only commandment, no fine print. Which means:
If you are against abortion, then don't perpetuate the stigma of adoption and fund orphanages.
If you are against euthanasia, then volunteer and fund hospices. Show that there is dignity in death.
If you are against contraception, divorce, and marriage equality (ie you think heteros should be the only ones to suffer), then uphold the separation of church and state. And spend more time with your family. After all, if truly devout even if made legal you wouldn't do it.
Most of all be Christ-like. Even he, who was without sin, didn't cast the first stone. To defend the faith is to welcome those who have sinned with open arms because we are all sinners.

There is one field where we need people who don't like having their jobs: that is in politics. Politics done right is a sacrifice. The best people don't want to be there, they want to get the job done and then go back to their normal lives. (A thread)
The best teachers and scientists HATE becoming admin, they want to be in their classrooms or labs. Tulakan yan. "Ikaw muna, nagsilbi na ako." Same with the best doctors. The best people generally hate bureaucracy they want to be on the execution end.
And in our country, where our parents told us "politics is dirty" and our bosses told us to "just avoid the government as much as possible", good and competent people wouldn't go into politics any more than we would eat a dirty ₱20 bill.

1) It is much more convenient to increase taxes than it is to increase the efficiency of tax collection. So the PH Govt passed the TRAIN law. Inflation went through the roof. Data c/o The Star and @jcpunongbayan's analysis
2) Because of the higher taxes the bulk of the political poor / masa / SEC D (61% of the PH population who live on less than $10/day BUT have voters ID'S) cannot afford enough rice. So the Rice Tarrification Law. Really effective based on @jcpunongbayan's researcv
3) Multiple economists and the new DA Secretary Dar himself have written and published in many newspapers the next necessary step that should have been started 2-3 years ago...
