Significant Weather Features dated 20/11/2020:
♦ The low pressure area over central parts of south Arabian Sea persists. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over southwest Arabian sea during next 48 hours.
Since the system is away from the Indian coast, it will not create any adverse weather over Indian region.
♦ A cyclonic circulation lies over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal at lower levels. Under its influence, a low pressure area is very likely to form over central parts of South Bay of Bengal around 23rd November, 2020.
It is likely to concentrate into a depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal and move west-northwestwards towards Srilanka- Tamilnadu coast during subsequent 48 hours.
♦ Under the influence of above system, rainfall activity over south Peninsula very likely to increase from 23rd November with scattered to fairly widespread rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning is very likely over Tamilnadu and isolated over rest parts.
Isolated heavy falls is also very likely over Tamilnadu on 23rd and isolated heavy to very heavy on 24th November, 2020.
♦ Minimum temperatures are very likely to fall by 2-4°C over most parts of central India and no significant change in minimum temperatures likely over East India during next 24 hours and fall by 3-5°C thereafter.
♦ Cold wave at isolated places is also likely over Haryana, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh during next 2 days.

♦ The Deep Depression over southwest Arabian Sea moved rapidly west-southwestwards with a speed of 45 kmph during past 06 hours, intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “GATI” ImageImageImage
and lay centred at 0830 hrs IST of today 22nd November 2020 over southwest Arabian Sea near Latitude 10.7° N and Longitude 53.8°E, about 210 km south of Socotra (Yemen), 290 km east-southeast of Ras Binnah (Somalia) and 360 km east-southeast of Alula (Somalia).
It is very likely to move west-southwestwards and intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during next 12 hours. It is very likely to cross Somalia coast around 10.5° N (south of Ras Binnah (Somalia)) during the early hours of 23rd November as a severe cyclonic storm.

♦ A cyclonic circulation lies over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal & adjoining North Andaman Sea between 1.5 & 4.5 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal by tomorrow,
the 31st October, 2020. It is likely to move towards Bangladesh coast during subsequent 48 hours.
♦ Under the influence of the above system, isolated heavy rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning is likely over south Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram &
Tripura during 31st October-01st November, 2020.
♦ A cyclonic circulation lies over Tamil Nadu coast & adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal in lower & mid tropospheric levels.

Under its influence, scattered rainfall with moderate thunderstorm & lightning very likely over Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu & Puducherry during next 5 days with:
