Lord Murugan should be included by everyone in their daily prayers for these reasons. Lord subramanya is Devta of mangal graha. People with delayed marriages, delayed childbearing, delayed works etc pray lord subramanya in combination with Maa Durga / Chandi on Tuesdays.
There are 3 psychic knots in body namely Bhrama granthi, vishnu granthi, Rudra granthi in a human body. A 2 coiled snake with the gaps in the coiled structure represents the same. From bottom Bhrama, then vishnu and then Rudra granthi.
When pujas are offered to these these coiled Nagas, we benefit cleansing of any doshas pertaining to nadis in body. In addition all kinds of sarpa doshas are relieved by serving these Nagas with milk, turmeric, chandan, kumkum and prashad.
People do these naga pratishta to get relieved from the karmic issues they face due to sarpa doshas. There are various types of sarpa doshas humans undergo.
Sarpa Dosha
1. When we stamp snakes head/ stomach/ tail
2. When we watch them having intimacy moments
3. When our shadow falls on its body
4. When snakes passes through menstrual pads thrown
5. If we or anyone from 7 generations have killed snakes.

For these reasons people pray on Naag panchami( Saavan), Naag Chaturthi( Kartik Maas), Ashlesha Bali ( Margasheersha Maas ) and Ananta Padmanabha Vrat yearly as per the regional practices. Naag pratishta are recommended in serious cases of doshas.

Lord skanda is said to be the gnyaana shakti, lord shiva the Ichha shakti and maata parvati the kriya shakti. The vel ( Spear ) is embodiment of shakti gifted by shakti to her son Murugan the god of wars.
